I understand Backwoods has shut its doors. Can anyone recommend another range?

I don't know the name. But there is a place off of 380 eats of McKinney towards Princeton.

Don't enjoy it there too much. I heard they were gonna shut their doors before too long as well.

The best place I have found is Elm Fork shooting sports in Dallas. They have sporting clays, 5 stand, trap and skeet. They also have a pistol and rifle range. They are located just west of I-35 and south of 635 on Northwest Highway and Luna road. Elm Fork Shooting Sports

I'm also under the impression CC Gun Range is in danger of being closed down because of re-zoning. They've been fighting this for years. For now the rifle range is still a decent option but unless they've made some MAJOR improvements don't bother taking a shotgun there. I've posted a question about this in one of the forums down further and Elm Fork seemed to be the most favorably mentioned for shotgun sports. I guess I got spoiled by Backwoods being relativly close by, it just don't seem right driving into the city to shoot  Anyways, not having a place of my own to shoot I may have to try it myself. PK

Just moved into a new (to us) house, need a couple
weeks to get everything settled then I'll be ready
for some practice. I'll be on here regularly until

I am going to shoot a round of sporting clays tomorrow around 9 or so.

I'll be there in a couple of weekends. I'll pm you a couple of days beforehand. I have a bunch of land to shoot on, but when I sight in rifles I like to go to the range to do it.

Where are you shooting? The CC range doesn't have sporting clays, does it?
