As some know I've been running deer/hog hunts on the 587 Ranch for a few years now and using the money to fix up the place. Now that the cabin is fixed up we listed it on AirBnB. There will be no guns allowed/no hunting if renting through AirBnB. Hunts will need to be scheduled through me. The 587 Ranch is almost 1 square mile cut out of the NW corner of Colorado Bend State Park in Bend,TX. Located between Lampasas and San Saba. It's a working cattle/hunting ranch with miles of trails. We share nearly 2 miles of low fence with the State Park. The cabin is about the furthest one can get away from other people. Visit this link to read about it and see pictures. I will try to check this thread and answer any questions. 587 Ranch BnB

That cabin looks nice. Are you planning to do combo offers with hunting and lodging? What pricing are you thinking about?

All hunts come with lodging. I won't do AirBnB during deer season.
Only taking archery hunters at this point. Trying to cut back on rifle hunts.
We charge a $150 per hunter "day" fee plus a kill fee. So basic hunt is Fri noon - Sunday noon for $300 (which is the deposit) Kill fees range from $250-$1400

That's a really good deal, considering that it includes lodging. Unfortunately, I'm a rifle only hunter.

The pig hunting is good on the 587ranch. Tim and Jason make the hunting fun.

We just added AC to the bathroom, painted it, new floor, new curtains etc... Much nicer. Also we have TONS of pigs right now. Had bow hunters just leave. They had 4 encounters within 15 yards and killed 2 pigs with their bows. Then 2-3 more encounters and killed one with my AR.. They wanted to "cheat" a little to ensure plenty of meat. Should be relatively easy hog hunting for another 1-2 months. More pigs than ever and they're hungry. Still have to hunt them as we're low fence and they ain't stupid!

For those out there that do not know the Hefner's, Jason and Tim, you are in for a good time. These guys are low key, get it done, straight shooters. The cabin is nice and comfortable. The property is magical. I have hunted extensively all over the world and the game (WT) literally flood the zone when the time is right during each hunt period. The difficulty is in getting the target animal in the clear for a good shot. Pigs, when we were there were much tougher, but it was the "wrong" time of year. You never really know what will wander in from the park side of the world, and that is a LONG side of the world... Enjoy and book with confidence. This is an unpaid/non compensated post by the way! Just good people!
