I have a custom engraved model 57 that sat in a blue display felt type material S&W supplies with the pistol. The wood is in great shape but you can take a damp cotton cloth and the blue will rub off.
But there is way too much to rub an inch at a time.
Would it hurt the finish to get a soft toothbrush after it with some mild soap? Or are their any tricks to the trade?
The pic I put down below will show a streak of it but the opposite side is way worse.

Just dip a rag in Hoppes...it'll get it off easily. Kind of like the (I think it's Fred's Hot Sauce commercial) - I use that Sh*T on everything.
