This poll needs more options. No real data will come from this. One, basically these two options are linked now. Just a simple opinion poll now. Good idea just needs developing. IMO

I would rather see some crappy restaurants/business shut down than die
There are WAY TOO MANY restaurants which suck, The STRONG ones will survive cuz their food is great and they have a loyal customer base (RE: 407)
whats so bad about hanging out at home a couple more weeks
everyone is looking for a political angle to this
Quit watching OAN, CNN,etc make your own decisions ,
Now, I'm retired and not out of "work" so, its easier for me to not panic, I have lost allot of money too

Seems to show what my poll showed. Most dont have a overwhelming fear of covid, and are upset because the pushed back the opening of TopGun 2!

I bet you would get a different response if this were done on the east coast, specifically northeast.
I am on a forum with a bunch of physicians, and almost universally you can tell where someone lives based on their opinions about covid and shutting down or starting back the economy....northeastern folks are solidly “keep it closed” where most folks in less hit areas are “open it up”.
These opinions will change if other parts of the country get close to what NYC is dealing with. It’s a war zone up there and if that happens in Houston or dfw, we are in for a real mess.

That be the friggin truth! Its far worse in small towns than Frisco, restaurants here cant hire halfway any decent employees, turn over is high above 80% and most of the servers and cooks are tattooed former meth addicts. i.e. they cant get a job doing anything else and cant keep any job more than 2 weeks. Sorry but this is the friggin truth! LOL

Care to take a stab at the mortality rate? How long do we stay closed? I would imagine the virus is still out there even if whe keep it shutdown for 3 months.

You left out Democrats and China as choices. Technically no, Demonrats = Economic Destruction, China = Coronavirus. I don't think people are worried as much about the almighty dollar as they are about survival, anyone with a non-essential business that isn't getting a gov check to cover them every month HAS to think about the dollar, insurance companies still want their money, their kids still want to eat, their bills still come due. Money/Commerce is the lifeblood of the country for those outside the gov money loop.

I also think opening it up or shutting it down, depends on what phase we are in in out life. Young people who dont have a whole lot of responsibilities are probably okay with shutting things down. A young couple with three kids and a mortgage probably want to go back to work. Older people that are retired are probably in the keep it closed camp.
Mike W you beat me to it.

That will change as more people die. It will get closer to home when a family member dies.

That will change as more people die. It will get closer to home when a family member dies. Mortality rate is gonna end up being really low, probably in the .3% IMO. Flu is .1% we dont shut the country down for the flu.
