I heard this today. For those that don't believe in vaccines. Think about this: We currently have only 1 virus without a vaccine and it has almost shut down the world. What do you think would happen if we got rid of all vaccines? Scary thought.
If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.

I personally either agree or disagree with vaccines. To me it is a personal choice, or should I say parental choice. Just figured I would get people thinking.

There were cripples in school when I was growing up. Meaning what? They didn't believe in them? You never explain yourself but have the experience to... Tell an old timer story. Some of us might appreciate it.

I assume that Bill was simply referring to a time before there were polio vaccinations (pre-1962 or 1963) so he saw some of the fallout at school.
A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

I assume that Bill was simply referring to a time before there were polio vaccinations (pre-1962 or 1963) so he saw some of the fallout at school. I grew up in the 50's and polio was pretty scary back in the day. I remember getting lined up at school to get vaccinated. My dad took us to the Stock Show and Rodeo, and I was about 9, and there was a kid in an Iron Lung on one of the displays, and you could hear the machine pumping the air, and I was terrified just walking next to that huge piece of machinery. There was a swimming hole we could no longer go swim in because several kids had come down with polio who visited that area. The display at the Rodeo was to raise money for research and a cure. Also remember all the stores had a cardboard poster on the counter with a picture of a kid with crutches with a jar for placing donations. Polio killed as well as crippled kids and young adults, and it was something all young couples trying to raise a family had to come to grips with.

There will be a shiatton more people taking theflu shot coming October. There will be such a demand from people scrambling to get theirs, they'll be running out of the vaccine, and many of those people who didn't believe in them will be at the front of the line.

I won’t be in line to get a C19 vaccine until it’s proven. I decline the annual best guess flu shot too. Everything else, I’m good with.

Not this guy. I believe in the tried and tested vaccines for the bad stuff out there. However, with the flu shot you are comparing apples and oranges. The flu shot dose not give you any type of lasting immunity like polio or hepatitis or small pox or yellow fever and so on. CDC even publishes that the flu shot is only approx 47% effective. It is also a cocktail of what they anticipate to be prevalent in that season. So, taking getting a vaccine that is less than 50% effective against the cornucopia of flu viruses out there is not worth the risk to my health. That said, There are people out there that are in higher risk categories that may get some benefit and the Risk versus Reward is different from me. That is a good thing for them. As for me... If/when I fall into one of those categories, I will reconsider. Until then.... I will not get a flu shot anytime soon.
Funny thing about getting older: Your eyesight starts getting weaker but your ability to see through people's BS gets much better.

I've also never had a flu shot in my life and don't plan on ever getting one. To each their own though. Only had the flu twice in my life..2009 and 1976. 2009 wasn't too bad but 1976 damn near killed me.

I hear a lot of me, me, me, with very little regard for others. And it’s a little sad how selfish our society has become.
By getting vaccinations, or flu shots-it’s not just about you. Yes, you get immunity and protected by getting shots and vaccines regardless of their efficacy, but it’s also to curb the likelihood those that can’t get vaccines or are immune compromised that you come in contact with have a lower probability of contracting it from you.
I thought the same way that I didn’t need the flu shot, until I had a child. . I haven’t missed an annual flu shot since the year before he was born- because of me being protected helps protect him- darn right I’m doing it. And now I work with an immunocompromised person that cant get them- but if me getting a free shot helps protect them, why not do it? Plus there’s an additional probability I won’t get the flu, I’ll take it.
For the same reasons, when they come out with a covid19 vaccination, myself and my family will get it as an annual shot.
