Don’t laugh but Doc Marten’s work boots from Academy’s are hard to beat. I wear them in a wet environment with harsh chemicals daily and they are still going after 3 years. They look rough but get the job done. Just ordered a new pair. My brother farms/ranches and would wear the soles, especially the heals, down on work boots, different brands, in about 2 months. I got him a pair and he is on month 6 or 8 and they still holding up! They are good boots but boy are they heavy. True, they have some heft behind them but after a week or two it’s like house shoes!

Good to see you posting again, Nav.
Seems to me that rotating boots more often is worth more than I realized, and I’ll have to give that option more effort. Now, do I risk spending the money on another pair of boots with the price of oil and the economy in a slump? That’s another thread, I suppose.

I don't believe oil will stay there very long, taking care of your feet is important, you do not want to add a Podiatrist to your list of Doctors, but if you need one, let me know, I have a good Podiatrist. .

Redwings have been the best for me for steel toed boots. Otherwise my Justin square toes have been with me about 7-8 years

It is not always the best price and wear, it has to be the best fi. Sorry fitting boots are useless.

Nice looking boots, like what I need, and what I mentioned needing in another thread, and I do want the Wellington style boot, but the Thorogoods don’t appear to be waterproof. Got to have waterproof boots.

Redwings. The USA made ones.
I usually get 1.5-2 years out of a pair. I wear them 5 days a week minimum. They're in mud and cow crap daily. Mine would last longer if I would clean them up and oil them more often.

Georgia Boots (owned by Rocky now) with the FLX Point sole and inserts, are the best I have found. I have some tennis shoe height Merrell MOAB II that are very durable and comfortable. May try Merrell MOAB II composite toe boots next.

Out of the last several pairs I have had Rocky is my favorite. Hold up well and by far the most comfortable pair of boots I have worn.
I have some twisted x now, they have been good but not long enough to make a call on them.

Isn't there something you could treat boots with to resist harsh chemicals?
