Not going to give names b/c this is a personal story, but a good one.

Friend of mine had premature twins, both are autistic, the boy worse than the girl. The boy is near,ly 100% non-verbal. The girl is a little better.

The boy and his dad were tooling down the highway in The Family Truckster a while back and got clipped by a car passing the car behind them and trying to fit in the space in the middle.

Their car ended up spinning, getting hit again, crossing the median, getting hit again, spinning more, and finally coming to rest in the ditch on the opposite side of the highway.

A few days later, after Church, Grandma and everybody is at the house. The young lad is sitting between Mama and Daddy on the couch, hasn't said a word since the accident.

My friend pats his thigh and says, "So tell me, during allllll that spinning around and getting hit over and over again, what were you thinking?"

The boy closes his eyes, then they open wide, and he says, "[censored]!!!" (probably gonna edit so ess h eye tee)

The boy's Grandma was shocked and was about to snap at him for using such language, but my friend raised her hand and said, "Mama, he used a word and he used it right. I'll take that win."

His Daddy patted his other leg and said, "Me, too, son. Me too."

Yep

Well done! I would do the same!

I would have said a whole lot more than that....

If only everyone truly understood that win. Still makes me tear up when I really think of waiting 4.5 years to hear Da-Da and how dang talkative our son really is now.

One day about a year and a half ago, me and the misses were in the bedroom talking. Our son walks in and says “I’ll F you up!” Now, this is totally not cool, and we explained this to him, but when he ran out to keep playing, wel lost it and still laugh about that sweet little voice saying such atrocities.
