If I was restaurant owner, I would pivot and focus on home delivery, let my clients know my food is safe, home delivery is the way to go...

Probably most are not set up or designed for home delivery

TI sent home all non essential employees and contractors. I know several contractors who were effected.

We’ve seen a spike in shipping via UPS. Lots of volume moving through the system. I’d imagine the same is for the other carriers.

My son and son in law have been told to work from home until further notice. ~ May.

The SIL works for a Fortune 500 company who is changing the locks on the doors so that even if employees wanted to they couldn’t go to work.

My daughter who is in the corporate travel industry lost her job and on the same day her husband got a call saying
the only job he has ever worked at, (hes 49). the company is declaring bankruptcy. It's a temporary employee
agency, sort of like "Kelly Girls."

Amazon announced they are hiring 100k people to deal with the backlog of people ordering enormous amounts of crap online right now. I’m worried we are going to be at a shortage of part time workers pretty soon with that kind of hiring.

My Son's a bar manager in Austin. He'll mostly likely be out of a job tomorrow. If anyone hear's of an opportunity down there let me know. He's already planning on looking into delivery positions in the sort run, but will need something better pretty quickly.

I’m about to head out to see if I can do any of my regular maintenance at some of my accounts. We service a lot of HAVC for restaurants and most are going to be closed. Yesterday we had six clients call and put their maintenance on hold for now one being a large hospital here locally that we take care of their computer rooms. The next couple of days are going to be interesting!

We got an email from corporate yesterday telling us to not visit customers for the next 14 days. About 2 hours later they sent another letting all Admin voluntarily work from home. No more live auctions for a while either.

Not here but we are working late trying to find ways to keep our folks working.

Yep, Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome is the name of the game right now. Even 100 year old companies are looking at changing their business models on the fly.

All non essentials are working from home so far. Crews are running wide open and the last time I checked in we had a plan in place to go from 4 to 3 to 2 Crews as needed due to sick employees. I’m on vacation until Sunday night, who knows what that will bring.

Luckily our only overhead is myself and our accountant - and we are vital to the business functioning. Not a place where someone can walk in and take over - pretty complicated. We've survived all the ups and downs of oil industry and we'll survive this one just fine as well. We can work from home and remotely access our office computers if need be - plenty of work to do that way. However, we're trying to knock out anything that needs to be done onsite this week since the odds are increasing Dallas will follow San Francisco. Only thing that might get bumpy is a paycheck until things get back to normal - our managing partner is over 65 and high risk - accountant is healthy but still also in the 65 range. Luckily I'm not worried about it either way as I'll still get paid - just later - but wife is in the vet med field and it's considered "essential" - so no matter what she goes in; with all the people off they've been busier than ever.

Feel bad for all the folks that don't have the finances to survive or woke up to no jobs today.

There will be tens of thousands looking for work in the next 3-4 months.

In my line of work we're not concerned about downsizing, but we're making quite a few changes. Patrol officers are curtailing the majority of their self initiated activity and handling as many calls as reasonably possible by phone. CID and command staff are on staggered schedules to keep fewer people on duty at any given time. I suspect the CID reduction won't last long. We have applicants who need background investigations and criminal case loads are going to get completely out of control very quickly if we continue this.
