So my XD Tactical 45 quit working after about 10 plus years of riding in my truck so I figured it was time for a good cleaning.

Started to take the slide completely apart and got stuck trying to remove the striker retainer roll pin. It wouldn't budge.

My gunsmith got it out for me for $5 and said the reason I couldn't get it out was it was broke in 2. That's why the gun wouldn't fire.

All sites such as Brownells were sold out.

Called Springfield and they are mailing me 3 of them for free. Not even asking for postage. That's good customer service.

I had an early XD9 that had a little different shape on the barrel lug that caused a piece of it to shear off. Contacted SA and they sent a shipping label. They replaced the barrel and locking lug, and had my pistol back 10 days from when I shipped it to them. I’ll also add that the pistol ran just fine for who knows how long after the break—I noticed it when I cleaned it one day.


But oh yeah, Springfield absolutely sucks and they never work... I read it on the internet.

I had one dealing with them on an EMP and it was excellent.
