I have two of these particular Westinghouse inverter generators ( https://www.amazon.com/Westinghouse...+ixlt+2200&qid=1577992807&sr=8-2) and would like to have some kind of extended/external fuel supply (refueling them is a PITA). Trouble is they evidently do not offer any kind of external fuel supply for it at all, and it doesn't' look like anyone else does either. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with fabricating them, be it for this exact model or any others that may be of help in getting this done. Thanks in advance.

I saw those when I was first researching this yesterday, but the problem is none of them are compatible. It's very likely something I'm going to have to make myself. I was more or less hoping someone may have experience with making these. I appreciate it though.

Seems like it would be pretty easy to set something up. I haven't looked at one but find the fuel line on the carb disconnect it get a longer piece and run it to an external tank.

Etxbuckman you could email or possibly call this guy I bought one of his kits for a predator 3500 then made my own for a Yamaha 2000 got all the parts off amazon pretty easy once you figure out how the pump system works . https://www.pinellaspowerproducts.com/

I assume this does not have a fuel pump...like the Honda and Champion inverter gen sets.
There is a guy on ebay that sells machined aluminum fuel caps for a number of generators, that have a threaded hole through the cap. We bought a pair for our 2000 Champions. Get a outboard motor fuel tank and some fittings. You put a short dip tube from the fitting that sticks down about half way into the fuel tank, with an outboard quick connect fitting at the fuel cap. . Fill the generator fuel tanks. Screw the caps in. Prime the fuel lines with the squeeze bulb that comes with the outboard motor tank. Snap the quick connected to the fuel caps. Set the fuel tank at, or slightly above, the gen sets.
IT ALL HAS TO BE AIR TIGHT!
Since the outboard fuel tanks have a tube that draws from the bottom, you can add fuel to the big tank with the gen running.
We all need to practice Whoa more.

If the generator doesn't have a fuel pump just put the fuel tank higher than the carb.

That’s a small genset. It might not be rated for continuous duty.
Cast I have a short attention spa

I silver soldered a 1 3/4" long tube into the 90 degree fitting that screws into the after market gas cap, so when it is fitted to the cap, that little tube extends about 1" into the gasoline in the generator's built in tank. Fill the generator fuel tank first, then hook up the extra tank. Since there is no air gap in the aux fuel line, you get something that is much more forgiving about the level of that aux tank and the hoses.
We all need to practice Whoa more.

I’m not certain, no, but the person I spoke with at Westinghouse advised it would not. Apparently the threading is different. I am in Spring, north of Houston.

I was told by someone at Westinghouse that that may fit their iGen 2200, which has a different thread pattern. Obviously that sucks for me.
