Here at our ranch (Hunt's Bowhunting Ranch)I tell folks that the prime time to hunt them is between December and Feburary. They are hitting the feeders hard during this time and with a bow they need to come to the feeders. If you are hunting with a rifle I would still recommend hunting during this time. They will be in their winter coats and have a darker color to them. We always have a good number taken every year and usually several that make the record book every year. I tell our hunters to be pateint and stay on the stand a couple hours longer than normal. Most of the times blackbuck will come to the feeders after everything else has left. All the corn will be gone, but the blackbuck will hunt for bits and pieces of corn. Usually during those hard winter months is when they will run into the feeders when they go off.

on a typical hill country ranch, we drive around and find the best one and take a shot. they run from moderately spooky to pretty calm, depending on hunting pressure.
You can hunt them from a blind, but on most of the ranches I hunt on, we either do it from a vehicle or spot and stalk.
they are small animals, only about 80 lbs, so they tend to look like their farther away than they really are, so remember than if your trying for a long shot and want to "hold over". also, most of them tend to favor open areas interpsersed with light tree coverage as oppossed to being in real thick cover, so keep this in mind when choosing camo and your choice of rifle/bow setup
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

We took one late Saturday afternoon from a Double Bull Darkhorse pop up blind overlooking the front pond. 5 came in and the hunter had a shot at about 23 yds from him.
I like hunting them with pop up blinds but its got to be in the right area to do it. BIG places with large fields and 50 ac food plots, that may not work. They should come to corn pretty well and they can be easy to pattern sometimes.
If your hunting with a rifle it shouldn't be too much of a problem. With a bow a good bit of preparation and obeservation will help instead of just setting up anywhere on the edge of a clearing or near water.
