Anyone have any experience with this new lineup of Meoptas? I like them and already have an Artemis, Meopro, and a Meostar. I am thinking of upgrading one of my 1" tube scopes to a 30mm Meopta Optika6. I was surprised at the prices...very reasonable for good German glass. My eyes are getting older and am considering their 4C reticle which has an illuminated center dot. Thoughts?

I think Buzz had one on order. Maybe it came in and he can give input. Price seems a little too good to me. I'm wondering if the glass is as good. I have a Meopro 6X and the glass is better than any of my other scopes.

Not that it matters to your decision but I believe Meopta is a Czech company, no?

Thanks for that link....interesting review. I am very happy with the Meoptas I have now and will almost surely drop some coin on a new Optika6. Yes, they are a Czech company and they also make the glass for others such as Zeiss. I guess I have a tendency to refer to the European scopes (Swarovski, etc.) as "German".

Meopta has always made stuff for other "high end European" manufacturers without getting much of the credit. I'm glad to see they're jumping into the tactical scope arena to grab the market share they deserve with a good product at a good price. Some mfg's sell a warranty with a scope to go along with it (cough... Vortex.) The Optika 6 line is almost certainly going to be a better product for the consumer at similar price points.
If they get the right reticle choices out there and they track well from a mechanical standpoint, they'll sell a ton of them.

getting tired of waiting, I ordered a Bushnell Forge from Cabelas, its on BACKORDER too. Got a SCREAMING deal on the Bushy, we'll see if Cabelas can fill my order.
Meanwhile the Meopta rep for the USA told me this yesterday
Not to my knowledge, no. Production is meeting the highest demands first so the 3-18 and 2.5-15 are biggest priority right now. 5-30s are starting to show up as well, so the Dichro 4.5-27s are not far behind.

Got my Optika6 3-18x56 Dichro in yesterday. Was gonna have it replace a Bushnell Forge 4.5-27 but not so convinced. Glass seems about equal to me but haven't shot it yet.

So took the Optika6 3-18x56 #4 Dichro out Monday on my Savage High Country 280AI. Also took my Bushnell Forge 4.5-27x50 on my Christensen Arms MPR 300PRC.
Optically they're about equal tho I could tell the Optika6 brought in abit more light. I would consider both to be about equal to my eye. Very much like both and believe I'll be getting another Optika6 for my son's 6.5 Creedmoor.
Not a very in-depth review but I'm not much the shooter. I can say I did take a javelina at 250yds with ease from the 280AI and Optika6 and a mulie near dusk at 125yds. Can say the Dichro does comes in handy in low-light situations.

The glass in the Meopro's are really good. I have a fixed 6x42 and the glass is amazing.

I had gotten a 3-18x50 Optika6 with the plex reticle. I really liked it but the crosshairs were too fine for my older eyes, so I recently sold it. Do any of you have an Optika6 with the 4C, 4D, or the Dichro illuminated reticles? I plan to get a SFP O-6 soon, but just want to make sure that the illuminated center dot helps for target acquisition, etc.

Feel like a knucklehead, but I'll share my story anyway. I did end up getting a 3-18x50 Optika6 with the 4C plex illuminated reticle. The red dot where the crosshairs intersect was not a solid red circle. It was an irregular shape with some gaps, so I ended up sending it back to Meopta. They sent me a replacement and it had the same problem. Well, the Meopta rep asked if I had tried adjusting the reticle using the diopter. Bingo, problem solved. No one had mentioned that before. Maybe I should have known, but this was the first illuminated scope with a center dot that I've ever gotten. So, in case some of you have what I thought was a "defect", try adjusting the diopter!!

My only compliant about the optika 6 4c reticle is that the reticle isn’t thick towards the center (like pictured on the websites). It’s almost a target style fine line reticle moreso than a thick German #4.

I have a Meostar, it replaced a 4.5x14x50 VX3 Leupold. The Meopta is noticeably clearer.

Popper -- You are definitely right about the crosshairs. I have an older Meopro that has a thicker reticle and really like it. But the last Meopro and an Optika6 with the plex that I got I had to sell because of their newer thin center crosshairs. Buzz: After adjusting the diopter, the center is a nice filled in red circle, so this one is a keeper. I just want to be sure no one else mistakes the unadjusted illuminated dot as defective. Yea, older eyes, but I can usually spot a deer before either of the two grandsons.

I have posted a few times on here about Meopta products. To makes a long story short, I used to work for another optic's company for 10+ years and now I have been doing freelance work with Meopta for almost 2 years. Yes, Meopta is in the Czech Republic and they make all their own glass and major components. Something that you might not be aware of, they also make a lot of "parts" for other major optics producers too. I couldn't be happier working with Meopta. Quality matters and like some of you, my old eyes need magnnification and clarity. My shooting style needs accuracy, reliability and repeatability and I have gotten all of that from my Meopta optics. Being a European company, Meopta has been known for their glass and also very important, their quality control. It has been the rare occasion that I have had to help someone with a warranty issue which as we all know, is a huge deal. Last year I hunted with the Optika6 3-18x50 Dichro reticle and was very pleased with the technology and how it allowed me to make an accurate shot on a nice buck at first light in dark timber. One thing a lot of guys think is that this is a battery powered optic, it is not. It requires some ambient light to work correctly. This year I used the 1 inch tubed Optika5 and was again very pleased. Same glass as the Optika6 and even with the 42mm obj. I found it very bright in early moring and last light situations. Again, A nice buck too. The MeoPro line is being retired and the Optika5 is taking it's place. I talk to guys everyday who are big fans of the MeoPro and the quality and profile it presents. If you are stuck on them, there are some floating around and even some good deals if you can find one. I am happy to try and answer any questions about Meopta poducts that you guys might have, as long as it isn't where you can find one. They seem to fly off shelves as soon as they arrive, both fortunate and unfortunate. Below is a link to all the reticles that Meopta offers. https://www.meoptasportsoptics.com/us/reticles/
