Trying to decide between these two triggers to go on my left hand remington 700 hunting rifle. Anyone have experience with these? Price is negligible, both can be had for $160-180. Triggertech is Canadian made, the ELF is American made. Similar methods of adjustment. The ELF has a user swapable safety that fits right or left hand 700's and comes with the ability to adjust the shoe and swap shoes making it the front runner in my eyes. Anyone have any info on either for or against?

Yesterday I installed the triggertech primary in a 700 and it’s awesome! Not sure about a left handed models, but Midway has them on sale right now for $123.99.

It is adjustable with an Allen wrench (included) and the screw has detents so it clicks when you turn it. If you run the screw all the way out and then go back until it clicks 3 times, you should be at the lowest setting of 1.5 lbs. Then every click as you turn clockwise is 1 oz increase or something like that. I left it at the lowest setting and it’s really great. I’ve never had a trigger so easy to press, and it doesn’t go anywhere after you do...It just breaks and that’s it. I thought it might be too light, but it worked out perfect!

I have upgraded triggers in my shield with the apex, my 10/22 with the bx, and my AR’s with the JP Enterprises yellow springs and non of them compare to this.

Unfortunately, I can’t help you with the ELF, but I honestly can’t see how anyone would not be impressed with the TT.

Are these Triggertech triggers a true drop in fit and easy to install in an older Rem. 700 that is now in a Hogue stock?

What are the opinions of the triggertech vs. Timney's?

Thanks in advance for any info. or recommendations.

Yes they drop right in.

I have a Primary in a 223 and a Timney “Hit” in a 30-06. I go back and forth as to which I like better. I had to put a little weight on the TT to keep it from firing when the stock hits the ground, but it still breaks at 2lb. It has no take up and no over travel.

The Timney has a little pre travel and a little over travel; I don’t mind either one. It is also set at 2lb.

I can’t say that one as really any better than the other—but they do feel different.

The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.

Mine fit just perfect and was a true drop in. However, there is a little catch that releases the bolt that has to be lined up right, and the manual says you may need to bend it to get it to seat right in the notch on the release lever. Again, mine fit perfect though.

The stupid Rem 700 bolt release. Yes, you may need to tweak just a bit to get it to run correctly.

Thanks for the info and help.
I think I will try the Triggertech instead of the Timney.
