Like others, never used to, but now always do. A compartment on my pack has a pen, small zip ties, exam gloves (the blue ones, not individually packaged surgical gloves), a very small T handle Gerber sternum saw............I think that's it.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

started using the latex gloves to clean hogs probably 10 years ago. now I pick up the packs that have latex glove and the plastic sleeves that go up to your shoulder. One of the guys on the lease always laughs at me, but when i'm done, i' just pull them off and there's little to no clean up

anyone do this? I put a few pair of black latex gloves in my pack a few days ago. Not having ready access to water in a lot of places has made me re-think using gloves to clean game, which I used to think was sissy but now may have some merit.
Yes, they may have some merit, sort of like wearing snake boots has some merit. I personally appreciate how much easier clean-up is for me if I have used gloves. Preventing infections from a host of diseases is also a huge bonus.

Been using gloves for many years, work real nice when in the Rockies to stay clean (er). Have found they also make a strong fire starter if you find yourself with an animal down and a blizzard shows up.

Warm guts on cold hands is a great ending to a successful hunt!
Not saying there is no benefit to it, but I don't wear gloves. Probably should. Ive never like wearing gloves, even for working etc.

We keep them handy at the cleaning station, the wife picks them up at a medical supply. The problem is getting them in big sizes, doctors must have small hands. I do not use them as I should, but it is cheap insurance. never used them for probably the first 40+ years of hunting and hundreds of deer, hogs, goats, barbado, etc. Was guiding with my BIL in the panhandle several years back when one of our hunters took a nice buck and I started in to cleaning it when my BIL stopped me and handed me some latex gloves. I was like and he said just use them ... I thought it odd but okay and put them on. Man did it make for a much easier clean up when I was done and didn't have the stent of rutting buck on my hands... Home Depot is where I finally found XL size black latex gloves, I use for all kinds of things like cooking, meal prep, catering, cleaning game, etc.

I always use the black nitrile gloves. Easy clean up and disease prevention. I also carry plastic bags and place the quarters and backstraps in separate bags as I place them on ice.

I work in a NICU and wash my hands probably 50+ times a day depending on the census....needless to say I have sensitive hands that beat up easily so I always wear gloves

I grew up with the old school ways, and you would have gotten some strange looks if you were seen wearing gloves back in the day. I wear them now when I have them, but I won't think twice going bare hands if I have to.
Thursday at 12:45 PM #33 Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Harbor Freight, the black ones in XL. They are 12 bucks for a hundred gloves less 20 percent with the magic coupon. They work great for cleaning animals, working on cars, cleaning the chicken coop, etc... I always have a box around.

I use the blue nitrile gloves from Harbor Freight. I keep some in my hunting day pack, and also in the truck. I then use hand wipes.

Deer, pigs, turkey, ducks, dove, never once wore a glove. Same here, except for Thunder Chickens. [censored] those animals. Spent a few days being so sick I wish I would’ve died. Cleaned a turkey, washed my hands well, was sick as hell the next few days. Makes having the flu seem fun.

Always do now. In college I contracted a bacterial infection cleaning doves- don’t want that again.
