^^^^ That is definitely not the right stuff....maybe if the pic was taken from the butt end of the cow, then it would be more like the stuff coming out of Austin....

I have no degree or went to college but I have had lots of people who have one or the other work for me. I do wish I would have gone though. I did not have the desire or funds in 1977 to do either. It still worked out OK though.

I have a BS in BS. It and a lot of hard work and keeping my nose clean for many years made me do good. But a Boss I had many years ago ask me if I went to any college. I told him no. He said that is a shame. I ask why. He said that though I was probably as smart as those that went I would never earn the money they would. Hopefully I proved him wrong.

Some jobs require a minimum of a bachelors degree. You need to learn to say do you want fries with that if you have a degree in social studies.

I’ve mentioned it before, but I had qualified people working for me that I could not promote. It was because they did not have a 4 year degree. They were eventually replaced by less qualified people with degrees.

I deal with a lot of high net worth individuals due to the nature of my job.
A lot of them don’t have college degrees....probably over half of them don’t. These are guys that have net worths of $3-4mm all the way over $100mm
If you want to go get a good job working for a major corporation yes, I would advise you to get a college degree, but there is nothing they says you have to have a degree to make good money.
It also depends on what tot want to do career wise that deems if it’s a worthwhile investment or not.
An engineer, absolutely. But if you get a general business degree and work in the oilfield, probably not so much.
I was never big on college myself. I went and am a few credits shy of an associates degree. Not going further worked out just fine for me.
Didn’t have the means to go but I wouldn’t have made a good student, I was ready to get out of classrooms not enlist for 4 more years and it showed when I was enrolled
For sone it’s a great investment for others it’s not but it’s not the absolute path to wealth and if you don’t go doesent mean your destined for a second class life
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

How do you know what college to B4 without a degree. Hey, you ever get somebody to refinish you're front door so it doesn't look like crap? Music Ed. Bachelor's from North Texas here. Then, after three year's teaching and a brand-new baby girl, I looked at the salary chart and that thing made absolutely NO sense. So, I went into the closely related field of truck equipment. Many years later we sold the business. Peddling iron's been "berry berry good to me"!

I have no degree and to achieve to my income level has required me to outwork those around me with degrees. You can make a very good living without a degree working for a large corporation, but it won’t happen easily.

I have a BS. Don't need it for my job but I enjoyed the experience of getting it.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

No degree but I will retire in 11 months at age 48 after 25 years of service with a 90K annual retirement income. I'm not sure if a degree and the private sector, would have been able to provide those numbers in that period of time, for a hick from the woods.

BS means you went through Bull Sheit MS is more sheit PhD means it’s just piled higher & deeper I have a BBA in Marketing with emphasis sales. I spent time at 4 different colleges and it took me 7.5 years to finish up, lol. Some would say I got that “broad education”. I had a blast in college. My pool and golf games were never better. I maxed out the student loans every semester and those really sucked to have to pay off. But man I had fun and wish I could go back in time!

I don't have plans for college, but I would really love to go to Briggs and Stratton's repair school and get a MST certification, in my opinion Small engines will be around for awhile, and people will break them or they will break due to cheapness, and if you're good enough, you'll have no trouble getting customers.

Yes, I don't use it thought.
Only positive thing going to college did for me was help me find my wife and gave me some great memories...
I guess it was worth it

I guess it was worth it I didn’t find my wife there, but I just hosted a weekend with five of my best friends from college. Made it all worth it.
I just turned it on . I was looking bird dogs in the butt this morning.

I think one thing that people tend to overlook in these discussions is the gross number of people working at certain levels.
There is no arguing that there are people without a degree that do really well in life. There also is no arguing that there are people with a degree that struggle and don't make as much.
Problem that I see is that many people discount the sheer number of low income jobs that are done by people without a degree. While there are very few with a degree that make less than $40k, there are millions of people without a degree that make less than $40k. When you look at the number of remedial jobs, it tends to slant the curve more than many realize.
While I am considered "highly educated", I do not have a degree. I don't even have an associates degree. I can go back in one semester and have 5 degrees though...
In the industries I have been in and around, a degree (or at least the education and experience) has opened many doors, made the work easier, reduced my hours required to make a certain salary, and has made a difference in my ability to succeed. Not to say I couldn't have done many of the things I have done without a degree, but it did make it easier and I think in the end it has benefited me greatly. With that said, I have never worked in a field associated with any of the degrees I would get if I went back and finished.
Could you break this down? Would this be five different associate degrees with one more semester?

Based on my experience, the only language you need is English. I've worked 26 years for the same company that does business and has operations all over the world. We're a high tech materials company that produces a material that we also final machine to the customers design. The industries are all over the spectrum from machine tool, to biomedical, semiconductor and aerospace. In Europe, many speak English. In Asia, enough speak English that communication isn't an issue. People come from all over the world to attend American business schools, so they can return to their countries and do business with us. English is taught in countries all over the world. There was time I was conversational in French, because I went there on business and had daily contact with French colleagues for about 10 years. I learned as much as I could as a courtesy, but didn't need it.
English will carry you in the largest % of the world economy. Most days, I do business with Europeans and Asians and communication has never been an issue. Don't waste your education $, time and energy on learning another language. Save those resources for something that will give you a leg up.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

No, it would be only 2 associate degrees. It would be a BA with a double major in Criminal Justice and psychology and BS in English. So guess, it is 4 degrees with a double major...

Those numbers are so skewed on weather a degree is needed or not. When I look at it I see the non degreed people that hustle do every bit as well. But when you just compare non degree vs degreed people the people with zero hustle and immigrants get mixed in. If anyone is concerned why I use the term immigrants its because they have hustle with lower paying jobs(not always low paying jobs). I was making sure they get a pat on the back. A degree typically makes for a great life, but it can also focus you down average careers
