Photobucket says these are resized under 800 pixels?

Keep trying. That big one is 1024 pixels wide.
You can right click on a/your photo and then click properties. You will see dimensions. The first number will be the width.

Ok, I don't use photobucket, but I just signed up so I could help you figure this out.
In your photobucket album above each picture is edit | move | share | delete
Click on edit
Buttons across the top above the photo in edit left to right go auto fix, fix red eye, crop, resize.
Click on resize.
Just above the photo in edit will be "new size" with dimensions given. Just below that will be a scroll bar with "preset sizes". That will be easiest.
Two of the choices are "large 640x480" (with the particular picture I am looking at, it will be slightly different depending on the size format of your original) and "15 inch screen 800x600".
Click the size you want. I like 640, but you can go as big as 800 now if you want. Note people with slow connections may bypass your ad if you always use 800.
Not done yet,
Below the picture in edit to the right you will need to click "Replace Original".
Then pull the url of the picture same as you have done before for posting in the forum.
Now if someone reading this has a better way or a better tutorial, do please chime in. I only signed up on photobucket just now to help roman out. John

rom, if you do a lot of auctions, online classifieds, things like that. You might look into photo editing software you can do a batch edit to resize all pictures in an album at once and do this before you upload them. Also, look into different photo hosting that is easier for you to use perhaps. I have to pay for it, but I use www.fototime.com. No matter what size picture I upload, it gives me a simple easy to use link option to that picture that puts it at 600 to 640 pixels wide without me having to resize the original picture. I have only seen photobucket for 10 minutes and already know I will not be changing to that one.
