I am not a fan of 2-stage triggers, so I would recommend a Jard or CMC trigger.

Barrel = BlackHole Weaponry or AR Performance.

Bolt Carrier = Most of them will work just fine. For the bolt itself, I would recommend a JP Enterprises enhanced bolt.

I do LaRue MBT for triggers, I tried their latest revision - a two stage flat trigger and found that it didn't fit the lower of a build (too much meat behind trigger).

They're great triggers for the price.

On the F-1 firearms upper receiver, IF you bought the skeletonized version, you will want to use a "reaction rod" to engage the barrel extension as you torque down the barrel nut. Due to the lightweight nature of the skeletonized part it is more apt to break than a typical whole receiver...

You didn't mention a budget for your build - the barrels can be anywhere from $120 to $650.

I like the Diamondback Firearms barrels for $ 120 bucks - they shoot really well at the price point and they are relatively light weight without paying for fluting.

If you want premium then Bartlein and Krieger are well known - you might look at DRACOS barrels if you do a lot of stalking and emptying of magazines on whole sounders - the DRACOS I have will group 10 shots into 1 MOA at steaming hot temps - its unreal!

Here are both barrels in action:

Good luck - Grendel is a great caliber!

I have 2 Grendel builds 1 with 20in shilen and the second is ar performance 20in this arp barrel at the time was 300$ cheaper than the shilen if I could do it over again I wouldn’t spend the extra 300$ again the arp barrel is crazy accurate for the money. There on sale on arp.com for 169$ today. First target pic is what the shilen will do on a good day on my part second pic is the arp barrel again when I do my part this is with factory hornady ammo 5 shots on each target at100yrds. On a bench .[Linked Image]

I have a couple thousand rounds through 3 different Grendels. My advice:

Don't go shorter than 20"

Velocity triggers are my favorite for any amount of money, but especially for the price.

ARP barrels and Superbolts are as accurate and durable as any other combination you can buy.

A durable bolt is as important as the barrel. I've broken Grendel bolts with handloads and factory ammo.

That is a really healthy budget.

I built one on a Wilson Combat reciever with an Odin Works barrel and bcg combo. I can do roughly, right at 1moa at 300 yards with hornady black 6 5grendel. I have a pretty decent hand load that does about 2-2.5" at 300 yards.

I agree the place where I'd spend money is getting a very good bolt that has a know reputation for being tough. With such a budget, I would purchase the bolt first and send it to whomever to headspace check your barrel. The higher end barrels will. I wanted a Lilja barrel but too rich for my blood. As of now, I'm more than happy with mine.

If you're curious, the rest of the build was a standard complete stock kit from bcm, a midwest free float handgaurd and a hiperfire trigger. That's a great, single stage trigger.

I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

I've been running this Faxon 18" barrel and have been very pleased with the accuracy. My buddy has a 12.5" Ballistic Advantage barrel and kills lots of hogs without any issues. I have the Larue MBT trigger also and it is nice for the price but if budget allows I think anything Geissele is the better option

I might be mistaken, but I don't think ARP makes 6.5G barrels any more after he got in a heated arguement and claimed 6.8SPC was a superior round.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

He's been in heated arguments about that subject for years. Still making Grendel barrels though.

Get a Larue MBT trigger, a Toolcraft BCG, and spend the rest of your allocated budget on a solid matched bolt and barrel. If i was in your shoes with that healthy budget, I'd be spending a lot of time perusing the JP website. Can't go wrong with their barrels.
