Went to my dads little place in Grosvenor for a last minute hunt. While on the way I saw my old Ag teacher trying to change a trailer tire so I stopped to help him out. After the tire had all the help it could get he told me I had better hurry up and go hunting. I told him that the deer at my dads had been almost non-existance for the last few years so I wasn't in much of a hurry. I got to the gate, slipped out and made my way toward the stand. I glassed the area before I climbed up in the stand to see no life anywhere, climbed up, sat down, adjusted the chair, then looked out nothing. I loaded my gun then placed it in the corner, I looked up and there was an 8 pt starring right at me. I slowly grabbed my gun and placed it up on the blind. Cross hairs in place off goes the safety and Blam. Looked up no deer, with my superb shooting skills I thought the buck would be lying right where I shot him but it looked as if I was just dreaming. Climbed down and walked to where he was standing and low and behold blood, the frothey type of a lung shot. I trailed the blood a few yards and it got thin so I just walked towards the fence to see if he jumped into the neighbors. No deer so I turned to head up the fence line and a musky odor filled my nose I have now turned into a blood hound. When I looked back to my left there lies a nice little buck piled up under a post oak tree. The buck traveled only about 35 yards with his heart and lungs almost all gone. Yep he was an 8 pt about 2 1/2years old, just a little young for me and I should have let him walk but the site of a good looking buck took over. I checked my watch and found out that by the time I sat down till the time I shot it took only around 30 seconds. It goes to show that no good deed goes unnoticed. Here is a picture.

Well Marcus I think that he was lost and couldn't find his way home. but he now has a new home in my freezer. I'll get some 22-250 and 223 shells loaded for some Varmit practice. Weakley Watson is having a varmit contest and is going to have drawings for 4 guns. Hey Babyarm she normally don't wonder where I am because she can just look in the Leupold vari-x III 4.1/2 X 14. Yea she can shoot also so I mind my P's and Q's
