That looks awesome! I'm also going to be alligator hunting this fall. What is the best way to preserve the hide before it gets to the taxidermist? I've been told to salt and put in my freezer. This goes against everything I've learned with fur bearing animals. Any advice?

Freeze OR salt, never both, gator scales slip easy in direct sun, and can spoil within hours if not cooled down. Bring a fulL ice chest just as an added measure until you can get to freezer. Good luck on your hunt. DC

Thanks for the advice. I was pretty sure the info I was told was wrong but I figured I should ask a expert. Thanks again!
