Had a fish fry the other day and want poppers. Usual Jalapenos cream cheese and bacon.. But this time, I deep fried the suckers with out batter. turned out great Bacon and Jalapeno little crispy. Sorry no pictures the did not last long.

I have done that as well. I like the way the bacon crisps up. I also make Shrimp Brochette in the fryer for that reason.
