I've got 2 big azz mirrors my wife has been nagging me to hang for a while.
They are 50#-60#, I'm not 100% sure of what to use to securely hang them on the wall.
Only drywall where the screws will end up at. So I've been putting it off.
What do y'all suggest to hold up something that heavy with just drywall to anchor it to?

Might be helpful if you post a picture of the back of mirror. There is a number of options.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

Not at home, but mirrors are. They have the screwed in loops on back side of mirror.
I just have a problem trusting the sheetrock to hold these heavy things up. Mirror will be right above where I usually sit.

So there are no studs behind the dry wall or you are forced to put anchor between studs? You could always cut the drywall out in a rectangle and add a 2x4 between studs at the height you want to hang the mirror then screw the pice of drywall back. The mirror will cover the part you cut out and could patch it later if you decide to take the mirror down.

Ain't doing all of that for a dang mirror. There is only 1 stud that I would be able to screw into towards one end.
Not sure if that's enough to secure it with the middle and other end being in just drywall. I got trust issues.

Hung up two mirrors of the same size with those. They should be fine.

Search for cleat style picture hanger. Lowes has a "Hillman 18-in Hangman Picture Hanging System" that says it is good to 200#. It should allow you to get at least one screw in the stud. I have used similar in the past on a heavy mirror with no issues.

This may be a winner right here, with the mirror mastic back up.

these self drill then part of the back flips over to lock them in, very sturdy. you have to punch them thru the dry wall if you ever take the mirror down tho.
