We put together the Extreme Long Range Shooting Organization a few months ago and we are proud to be holding our Inaugural match at Hawks Double Mountain Ranch in Rotan, TX on May 10-11.

The goal of the association is to create shooter opportunities and help the sport of ELR shooting grow. We will have a yearly points race a finals match. Our matches guarantee a MINIMUM of 30% of the entry fee to be put into a payout pool. Match directors may increase the payout pool and/or offer additional prizes as well.

Don't be discouraged if you don't have a .50 cal sitting around waiting to be stretched out. We designed the divisions to try to get folks involved in the sport! Our limited division is for all calibers .338 and smaller (585 boltface). It will begin at 1000 yds and typically run out to 2000yds. The unlimited division is for all calibers larger than .338 up to .50 cal and will begin at 1500 yards and go to 3000+ yds.

You DO NOT have to be an ELRSO member to shoot the match. You can pay the nonmember price at any of our matches. If you decide to join ELRSO within 90 days the nonmember fee will be applied to the cost of your membership. That said, the membership does come with perks. Members will be in the points race for the finals and our list of industry partners offering discounts to our members is growing daily.

What is the format of this match going to be? Bracket style or just overall points? Any idea on round count yet?

Round count is 30. It’s an overall points, not a bracket match. All shooters will shoot the first two rounds and the top 10 scores will move on to the third and final round.

Currently 7 Rem Mag and 180 VLD hunting. At a mile it is sketchy. 2000, it won't be repeatable.

Better get one built! There is going to be another match at Triple C later in the year and two in New Mexico in the next few months. It's going to be a blast and we'd love to have you join us!
