What are some of the foods you once ate, but no longer eat?

I'll go first. Squirrel, frog legs, and field corn, but I never ate chitiins. Maybe there are may be others.

You go next.

THFers ask how I come up with the great threads I post on this forum. I heard a bullfrog in my back yard pond. It reminded me of a time we were cleaning some specks on my pier. A bullfrog was looking right at croaking. The friend tossed a piece of fish and said shut up frog. The frog stuck out its tongue and caught the morsel in the air. I love to hear them croak. The farmer across the road invited me to help myself to his field corn. We call them roasting ears when I was growing. Didn't care for them.

All as a kid, never again...

Hamburger helper, I can’t stand that trash to this day

Boiled spinach, I can’t stand that trash either

We eat just about anything else. I absolutely will not eat either of those

Cabbage and lamb, since my mom died.
Giblet gravy, my wife refuses to make it. Mom made the best.

squirrel.

and fudge. I was literally force fed homemade fudge from ages 0 to about 15. To this day I HATE fudge.

If I did not eat and appreciate my grandmother's fudge, my father would yell at me and make me feel like a pos.

Fresh cut mountain oysters. We cut em, cooked em, and ate them. Usually in a breakfast course with gravy.

It is kind of odd, some things you hated (I guess mostly childhood) and never wanted again

I see Beats made the list from a few guys.

I didn’t have them until later in life, maybe early 30’s. I like them, I’ve bought them pickled several times actually

I liked pickled beets as a kid, we still eat them occasionally. But the brand does have some degree of acceptance or not, I prefer the bottle version from Delmonte

Liver. I was forced to eat it twice a year since we had calves butchered for meat. We got enough for two meals per year on our halves. I hated it so much I refused to even bait a trotline with liver after that.

I used to drink a gallon of milk a day when I was a kid. I don’t drink it anymore either. My boys drink a gallon a day between the two of them but they’re still growing.

I drank fresh milk with all the cream trying to gain weight in high school. I stayed skinny until my junior year. I was working in a machine shop my junior summer and started lifting with the guys I worked with after quitting time. After working out I’d drink a 12 pack of Busch tall boys. That finally put the weight on me. I gained 30 pounds of muscle that summer. Busch tall boys are better than steroids. I don’t drink those anymore either.

You can google it but its basically a gar croquette. You boil the gar and mix it with eggs, crumbs, and onions, then fry it. I'm busy watching Chuck Norris now. Someone please look it up.

When I was young we use to eat Jitrnice (form of Czech Sausage) all the time. The thought I eating it today gives me the shivers. Until about eight years old I ate Ketchup on everything, I cant stand the sight taste or smell of it anymore.
