Anyone hunting them? Last weekend on lake x duck hunting could have shot a limit, saw tons. Just never really interested in shooting dove while duck hunting, or wasting duck loads on them.

I wasn't able to find my late season dove tags.... bummer.

I will if I find 'em. Usually it is an accident tho. Late Dec last year I was up in the panhandle hunting quail and phez. No phez, but there were hundreds if not thousands of doves hitting a harvested cotton field. Went to town, grabbed a 12 pack of Shiner and some more #7.5s, and had a heck of a good afternoon as snow was coming in. Temps in the 20s and howling wind made it pretty darn sporty.

I had a lot of dove 2-3 weeks ago in the fields. Now the dove fields are flooded and covered in ducks. Had a guy duck hunting this morning and he said he saw about 75 Teal, 75-100 Mallards and a few Pintail mixed in.

I've gone out 4 mornings specifically for winter dove and have shot a limit each time. Have been covered up at times but the shooting isn't easy - the birds are flying like darts and tough flyers, which I prefer over much of the early season birds. Mud and water everywhere but the birds aren't using the crop fields, they are sticking to area pastures. The birds here are gouged full of some type of tiny wild seeds. This is in central TX.

Academy has some target steel loads for around $5 a box.

He hunted alone this morning, when he was done he came up to the house and booked several more hunts with friends here. The majority of the ducks just showed up about 10 days ago.

Been doing good on Doves as our Ducks disappeared until this morning that is, had all 3 tanks covered in ducks. Mallards, widgeons ,gadwalls and a few Pintails. Know where I be in the morning..
