Hey Gang-

Santa Vegas came to my wallet about a month ago, got a stupid big royal flush progressive while on a business trip in Las Vegas. I debated posting a picture, this is a hunting forum not a poker forum or whatever but I’ll do it anyway. To tell the truth I never really got terribly excited, after standing up, hands on my head and saying, “Oh my God, holy crap!” I honestly just sat there stunned- it was surreal, couldn’t believe it.

Anyway rather than stick it in dumb machines I wanted to have something to show for it so I called and got a ridiculously good Black Friday deal on a pair of Leica Ultravid 10x42 HDB 3000’s ($500 off) They’re absolutely incredible. They are also pretty big and heavy and expensive and I don’t take as good of care of my stuff as I should, my Vortex binos that I’ve used for the last 5yrs have a scratch, are full of dirt/dust and I can’t seem to get the lenses un-smudged. I DO NOT want that to happen to these incredible optics.

I use these 95% of the time for hunting. I live in SW Oklahoma, Altus to be exact and I don’t get out much- can’t really try anything out that isn’t at Wal Mart. I’ve got no idea what harness to buy.

Lens caps never stay on for long, lost one already on my 2nd trip hunting with these. All I’ve got is the strap that came with it. I like my vortex harness ok but it leaves the lenses exposed.

Does anyone have a suggestion or two? I’d like to be able to get to them while hunting quickly and easily, have some protection from dust and crap and be easy to use, not flop around. I don’t care if they’re cheap or expensive- I’d really just like to buy one harness and be done.

Appreciate any advice y’all may have and Merry Christmas, Happy New Year to you and yours.

For that kind of money, buy all of them and send me the ones you don’t like.

Ive got a KUIU that I like a lot. Most of the guys that have more experience with different brands seem to prefer the Alaska Guide Creations or the FHF Gear. I’d go with one of those if I didn’t already have the KUIU.

I use Alaska gear. The big question is do you want Bino only or pouches. Mine has a pouch on the bottom and I leave range finder and sometimes gps in there

I really like my Alaska Guide Creations. I got the model with pouch on front, but not the extra on the bottom. I carry my binos, range finder, gps, wind indicator, and a couple extra rounds in mine.
