So I just bought 2 moultrie A-35 game cams online. I powered them up, put new CD 8 mg chips in them, took 5 test pics on them No problems. I checked the test pics in my moultrie handheld chip viewer, then ERASED the pics. Now both game cams say ""CArd"" and will not take any more pics.

So what's up? Do I need to buy new cards? Erase old ones? Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

Try formatting the cards in a computer. I did that to mine and I haven't had any problems.

I also think it is a formatting issue. Do a quick format with a computer and it should fix the issue.

Make sure the little slider on the SD card is not locked.

My moulties only work with 16 mp cards for some reason. They will take a few pics with smaller cards but that’s it. If you have a 16 mp card you might try it and see if it works.

Not to one up you, but my Moulties work with any size memory card, so long as I format them first.

So now I have to go buy a pc just to program chips for this cam? Huh!!

Since I don't have a pc, can I buy new chips exclusively for each cam and they will work? I read that you should ONLY erase the cards using the camera itself. So I guess that using my moultrie sd card reader is where I goofed up. I can use these bad cards in my primos.

Those "bad" cards won't work in any camera unless reformatted. Maybe a friend has a computer you can borrow?

I have used my laptop to view and then delete photos from the formatted cards in my Moulties without a problem.

I believe the formatting process just adds a small utility file to the card that adds the date and time information to each photo. If you delete only the photos and not the utility file, you should be fine.

I just noticed that you say you got an "8 mg" card. Just for confirmation, is your card actually 8 gb or 8 mb? Also, your camera may have a format function to format the card in the camera.

Oh I'm sorry, it is GB. I was talking silly. I did try the "Bad" card in my primos and it works fine. And they work in my old moultrie as well. Guess this is just a new high tech thing. Rrrrrrrr.....

Got it done at the library. Pretty simple, but still kinda a pain.

Thanks everyone for the help!
