Picked up a Glock 40 at the Lewisville gun show yesterday and grabbed a Safariland holster from Academy. Not really in love with the holster and wanted to hear recommendations before ordering something online. Outside waistband holster is what I'm wanting and leaning towards a Fobus.
Is there a holster I'm missing?

The G40 frame is the same as a G20 or G21. The barrel is just longer. So if you find an open holster on the bottom for the barrel and slide to fit through, any holster for the G20 or G21 would work fine. I run a basic OWB holster for mine with the retention on my Glock 10mm pistols.

Take a look at VersaCarry to see if they have something that you might like. I have a couple of their Commanders that I like to use, when I use one. Made here in Texas. Their quality is excellent also.

Tony Banda is in South Arlington and does awesome kydex holsters. He does a lot of standard stuff but can also do custom stuff that nobody has done before. I had an idea for a leg holster for a suppressed .45 when I am hunting. I wanted to be able to draw the gun with suppressor attached while sitting down. I explained what I wanted and it came out perfect and exactly how I wanted. He does quite a few holsters for LEOs as well. http://a1customtac.com
It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.
