Thank you OX190. LOL Would you like some fried okra with that? My Sweetie loves fried okra when I fix up a mess of CFDS.

Wow man, you folks have done lost your minds. There is no better than Hill's Cafe in South Austin. It is griddle fried(not in grease) and corn meal battered. Throw on the yellow gravy and it is OVER. Traditional deep fried roadhouse style, George's in Waco is KING.

You sure do know how to make a man's mouth water. Fresh fried okra hmmm hmmm good.....maybe some sliced homegrown tomatoes with salt and pepper too.

Ok i have now had both flossy's and mary's chicken fries and they are close enought to the same for me. Mary's did seem to be a little more flavorfull, but i won't wait in the long line at mary's if im hungry. I think flossy's was a buck or 2 cheaper.

Jack and Dorthy's is still around. Think they actually did some remodeling not to long ago. I would have to add another vote to Mary's.

Wasn't Judge Roy Beans at Park and Greenville where the CVS Pharmacy is now? I loved their Wednesday night CFS special. We chowed there in high school.

I guess ya'll have never eaten at The Lowake Steakhouse in Lowake, Tx., because if ya'll had, ya'll would all agree that they make the best damn chicken fried steaks in Texas. I don't even need to argue this point, because they have been voted the best chicken fried steaks for a while now in almost every magazine that issues "the best in Texas" special issues.

Wildcatter in Graham is good. The best chicken fry I've ever had came from there last Friday night. Steaks are good there as well.

Never had any of these that were mentioned, so my favorite is The Country Inn in Somerville. Very good.

If you want something different and are in Breckenridge, stop at Ernie's Mexican Restraunt. They have a Chicken Fry that is covered in Queso instead of gravy. It is dang good.

I've eaten at Ernie's Skeeteroneal, so, where is the best place to eat in Breckenridge?
In fact, I'll probably eat there this weekend. I'll check out the CFS.

I concur with the place in Olney - its an old DQ or something like that. They do it a little different I recll, they batter it and place it on the griddle. Whatever the name and the method, it is darn tasty.
