I use a REAP-IR as one of my main optics and obviously the image quality is out of this world. In my opinion, you buy a Trijicon because you have to have the absolute best in image quality and the highest of the high end thermal scopes. If you need/want video recording it's just so much easier and better with something like the Pulsar Trail XP50. I also greatly prefer the menu system and ergonomic controls of the Pulsars over the Trijicons but again, the Pulsars just can't compete on image quality and ID range.I like the REAP over the MKIII's because of the smaller size and weight, it's almost a full pound less than the MKIII 35mm.
The joystick on the REAP is also something you need to consider, some people love it and some people hate it. I would like it a lot more if it was on the left side vs the right side but that is just my opinion. Did I mention the image quality? Ok, just making sure.lol

I run a reap on the rifle and a patrol to scan/pan
only cons are the joystick is a bit kludgy with gloves on and the battery life, especially on cold weather nights, is a bit short

Sounds like a plan, I love spending other people’s money. I wish I had some $0000’s for one
