Was on the Phoenix Ranch outside of Ranger last week. One of the guides came back into camp with a furry animal in the back of his p/u.....thought it was a little pig but was in fact a beaver. Ever seen one this far south?

Fought a running battle w/ the little critters for 3 years in Knox Co. Kept damming up a creek we irrigated out of. I could take a backhoe and dig out a dam and they would have it back the next day. They are still cool.

Have seen several beaver colonies in Collin county near Wylie. Could be new houses force them into open.

Beavers or....nutria? Some nutria can get just as big as a beaver....so check out their tail and make sure it's a flat tail and not a round one!

On a trapping forum I get on every once in a while they post pics of 100+ pound beavers from up north all the time. Some of those suckers get huge.

I just looked through all my pictures but couldn't find one of a beaver we killed a few years ago. Wasn't 100 pounds but it was huge.

BB, are you going to get to the 3,000 post mark anytime soon. I finally got past 250. I do more reading than I do posting.
