How do you reduce hand shock and bow vibration(loud)on a older bow? I have a four or five year old Mathews feather light and cant find anything to cause this. I've tried silencers, made sure nothing was loose and checked my stabilizer bar. I keep it pretty well maintained and use it about three times a week. Could I need a new string? I'm not sure when the last time the lady replaced the strings before I got it. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Going to try to get my first bow kill in June so....kinda want to get this solved asap. TIA

Best bet is go to a pro-shop. Could be a limb pocket is bad or a crack in a limb you can't see. A bad cam or any number of things can cause these issues. Go see a pro.

sometimes a limb can warp and cause a little extra vibration, but as light as you need to grip a bow, you should hear it, more than feel it.

If nothing is wrong with the bow i would suggest limb savers. They made a big difference in a old hoyt I used to have. Also make sure you are shooting a heavy enough arrow for the lbs your pulling.

+1 on the arrow weight. Yo still need to have it checked out by a pro shop or someone that has a press and can take it apart.

I will try heavier arrows and see what happens. My draw weight is about 58 lbs. and I'm not sure what the arrows are but the are pretty light. What is the recommended arrow weight for 55-60 lb. draw?
Now that I think of it.... I can hear the nock releasing with a thud and the string vibrating. Doesn't last that long maybe one or two seconds. Do you think the nock is to narrow for my string or is it suppose to fit that tight?

I would try the simplest "fix" first. I shoot at 62 pounds and use a 400 grain arrow with 100 grain FP's or broadheads. That seems about right for my rig. Failing that, I would go with what others have suggested, and take it to a pro shop. Good luck.

depends on how the bow is set-up as to how much a recommended arrow should weigh. I shoot about 1gr/lb below IBO rating, but can get by with it b/c of arrow length.
