What’s the rule on special white wing dove weekends. Can I hunt them this weekend in south Texas? It says I can shoot up to 2 mourning doves leagally...I’m guessing if on accident...two whoopses are allowed...
Are there really that many white winged doves now? I haven’t hunted doves in 10 years. I guess things have changed?

Will be hunting near Uvalde. Yes, Mathman you can hunt special WW zone in South Texas, but remember shooting does not start till noon. Yes, only 2 mourning doves allowed. And whitewings continue to move and expand. My brother has seen them in Edmond Oklahoma.

It's the opener, never miss it, no matter what the bird count looks like. This year it's our farm near Bardwell. More of a party than a hunt. Good friends, good food, great dogs, if the birds show up - bad on them. Y'ALL HAVE FUN!!!

Family reunion hunt, 1st and 2nd in Rising Star. First time since 1998 that we've all hunted together. I was 14 at the time. This time around, my 13 yr old son will be hunting for the first time and my 5 yr old son will be retrieving!

Had the opportunity to go for my second ever dove hunt. Went with a family member to Sherman on Saturday. Didn’t kill anything Saturday other than lots of air. Sunday morning I killed my first dove. Beautiful ring neck. I took a knee to thank the lord for the glorious experience. That’s all I finished with, but I’m hooked.

Whelp, 5 of us hunted near Topsey. Killed 7 between us over the weekend. Probably saw 15 more total that we didn't kill. Maybe there will be more birds later.
