Sounds like you must have gotten a successful email today??? Did you see that EVERYONE that applied received a permit, and the TPWD withdrew all of them?? Something slipped in the computer.

I drew for gun deer either sex there two years ago. I didnt shoot anything but had fun. Had one decent buck cross my shooting lane but he was young and didnt hit the size mark I had set for myself. There are some true giants in that area. The park officer that showed us our compartments showed me some pics of deer from the neighboring ranch. They were huge. Good luck.

Redchevy, I've shot a lot of canvasbacks off that creek mouth. The catfishing there is awesome as well!

We hunted the Daughtrey last year and it was fantastic. The check station for the north shore unit is the Daughtrey office and several guys were hunting there that we met. They said it is thick country and has very little cleared area. They said it was rough hunting but there are some giants out there.

When I was in high school and college we would park on the side of HWY 99 and carry our jon boat and an old 1957 Evinrude down to the water and launch at opossum creek. Killed lots of ducks out there, and caught lots of good catfish as well.
