I havent been there in a while, since the last time I was at the one in Plano the service sucked, and the food was mediocre, no offense intended. I did like the barbacoa when I used to go there though. OTB cant beat real mexican in my opinion. El Pueblito in Plano has gotta be one of my favorite mexican restaurants.

I don't think On the Border even qualifies as a Mexican Restraunt, at least not here in west Tx. When I saw the title, I thought you meant On the Border Favorites, like crossing the Rio Grande and not getting shot by the Migra.

Their beer is cold... other than that, wasn't real impressed with the one in C.S.

all of OTBs food is overloaded with sodium and unnecessary fat.

Case in point:
Mesquite Grilled Shrimp Fajitas
1800 calories
107 g fat
5650 mg sodium

Shrimp is supposed to be halfway healthy since it is naturally low in fat..

or another example:

Fish Tacos with Beans and Rice
2100 Calories
130 g fat
4760 mg sodium

Fish IS healthy.. until OTB molested it.

the other reason I don't eat there is that they bulldozed over a particular favorite Italian restaurant of mine for their establishment in Tyler.

shrimp don't significantly increase your LDL, can help lower HDLs and can help lower your trigs.. a food phenominon that I'm sure would go over my head if someone explained it. No health-related reasons to avoid except allergies.

The ones here in Ft Worth are good. And they are not Mexican, they are commercial Tex-Mex, HUGE difference!

Owned by Brinker, we don't eat at chain restaurants. On the other hand their Margarita's are good.

Haven't been many times as there are too many
better places but the last time we went the
mahi-mahi tacos were pretty dern good.
I'll give them
Neither my wife or son liked what they had,
but I'd recommend those tacos if you have
no choice but to eat there.

I like mercado in Tyler... have liked their food every time I've gone.

mercados is pretty doggon good. I got a taste for Don Juans before moving away.. not quite as tex-mex as mercados, their cheeses are amazing

Even though they are not authentic Mex food, I like the Ranchalidas. The ones around Ft. Worth have always seemed ok.

This place was shut down in San Antonio in the late 90's for food code violations. Now they have a new store...deja vu

Had the Southwest Chicken Tacos last night. They were ok. Think from now on I will just stick with the tortilla soup.

On another note I ordered the new top o the line margarita they have with the Patron and it was like taking a shot. I had to send it back.
