I know its no Tikka but you know its American Made Don't you drive a Japanese truck? As opposed to the alternative Mexican made trucks, I think he made the right choice! You missed the point.

My love of and use of Remington and Marlin firearms far predates anyone ever hearing the names Freedom Group or Cerberus. I suspect it will continue long after those names in regards to their current dumb [censored] entities - are long gone. I hope they emerge from bankruptcy like many companies have before them and under proper leadership are the great companies they were before! I will never turn my back on a properly managed US firearms company - ever.

Only real issue I've seem with a Ruger 77 is a terrible trigger. That can be corrected, and when it is, they often shoot well. optic mounting system and rings are a deal killer and were terrible idea to begin with....... the controlled round feed is good... I guess I don't understand how built in ring mounts to the receiver are a terrible idea. You are the first I've heard complain about the mounting system.

I guess I forgot about control feed, I am not a fan, and do not own any control round feed actions. I'm good with the scope base integrated in the receiver. Fewer screws to worry about is a good thing. I also like the Mauser style controlled round feed. Makes for a smooth and reliable big bore dangerous game rifle. It's the angled front action screw that I dislike. What a pain in the keester to bed...the trigger also has to go.
