Leupold® is issuing a consumer alert to purchasers of Leupold riflescope products, particularly via internet sales, in regards to counterfeit Leupold products that are illegally imported from the People’s Republic of China. These fake products bear many of the trademarks and trade dress of current Leupold & Stevens riflescopes, and are sometimes difficult to distinguish externally from authentic Leupold products. https://www.leupold.com/service-support/resources/counterfeit-warning

I've seen it before and it always pisses me off. I haven't bought a counterfeit scope but I know they're out there. I did buy a counterfeit set of Nike Golf irons a few years ago from EBay and that's when I started researching counterfeit products. I've even seen counterfeit toothpaste. 
Haha yea I polished that thing for hours.
