A few cows on the place. Sometimes they would rub their horns on my stand and push it. Want to get rid of them when hunting.
Thoughts on keeping a bb or pellet pistol in the stand, or in my bag? Will it even phase them?

Sling shot and ball bearings. Sting an azz or 3 and they will move on.

Sling shot and ball bearings. Sting an azz or 3 and they will move on. You could use a kernel of corn, it would be cheaper and some animal would eat it. But if the landowner found out, you might be looking for a new lease.

I know it's pretty annoying, but I don't think I'd be shooting at cows with a pellet gun. I can't imagine any land owner liking that.

Not landowners cattle. Leased to another guy. I have good relationship with him. He is very nice ndestanding as his cows have destroyed a lot of stuff.
It’s only when they push up against my tower and rock it.
I would not even consider it without his consent. Which I have in a text.

Wrist Rocket and a pocket of marble-sized rocks. Zing'em a few times and they'll move on. Tried corn but it's bc sucks (it's not too aerodynamic ya know, unless it's coming out of the feeder when you're testing it)

My deer mix with cows on the regular. They might not stay in the feeder pen when the cows close in around them. I am a firm believer you will cause more harm than good by running cows off.
That is unless they are going to knock your stand over with you in it.

I promise, if you shot my cows with ANYTHING, you would not set foot on my place ever again.

I lived this very scenario this past deer season and could not disagree more. I set up a new spot on the ranch I hunt at back in May/June of 2017. Plenty of deer and hogs through on a daily basis via cameras (one being cell so I see pics daily). Aug/September the cows started dropping by and by October were spending the night, leave mid-morning and return mid-late afternoon for the night. Deer stopped coming, I mean completely stopped coming by the start of the season, not even a doe. Hogs as well. My last full sounder of hogs was October 29, with pics of another sounder on Dec. 4th. From Oct 29 through the season I think I shot 3 lone boars, with none on camera since mid-December. One boar appeared yesterday. I stopped feeding corn after 1/7 for 2-3 weeks and the cows left. Starting throwing again late January and almost to the day, deer started showing again, in force and are there daily. While I do believe the acorn crop hurt my corn attractiveness and the cold has helped it, I am 100% convinced the almost constant cow presence ran off the deer. Their re-emergence with the cows moving on is not just a coincidence. My opinion.

Thoughts on keeping a bb or pellet pistol in the stand, or in my bag? Will it even phase them? Get an airsoft pistol . They wont hurt cattle or anything else for that matters . https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/soft-ai...ldCatid=1034013

I think I'd use a slingshot and 5/8" marbles. Move em out but not hurt em.

OP, if it's a big deal, can't you throw a cattle panel or two around your stand?

we used airsoft fully auto electric guns shooting the 1/4" small plastic round shot. At cycle rate of 20per sec & 350-400fps it got there attention without harming them . good out to 60-70 yards.
we tried the slingshot / yelling / putting up pens that they jumped or tore down- etc to no avail .
either airsoft or paintball guns. paintball if you don't mind poka dotted cattle

Y’all are funny. It’s just a cow, I eat and wear them daily.
It’s a B.B. or marble.

Threw corn, had deer, cows came regularly, deer left. Stopped corn, cows left. Started corn, no cows yet, deer returned. That better? I agree you will see cows and deer together, but when the cows are around a lot, the deer move on to less crowded conditions.

I have personally seen deer feeding on places I hand corned. Then saw cows/longhorn chase them off.
That’s fine. The B.B. gun is for them chasing me to the stand and bumping my stand with me in it.
Even though some find that cruel and unusual punishment to a 600 pound cow.

If it isn't going to break human skin, its dang sure not going to hurt cattle. Now, I might be pissed if someone was pointing anything at cows. Fence them out, make your pens bigger, if you don't have pens someone needs to train the humans better.
