$7.50 for 50# yesterday at the feed store in Cisco. A lot cleaner than the bags I recently got from TSC in Eastland.

It is pretty good quality. Im used to overpaying at academy so another 10lbs for the same price/quality made me happy.

Just noticed Coryell Feed and Supply in Gatesville had dropped their price to $5.75 per 50#. Haven't bought any so I don't have a report on the quality.

$4.89 for 50# bag at Buc-cee's in Wharton just now. Might be the best price I've ever seen.

Tractor Supply in Mesquite had 37.5 lb bags for $5.79, I'm lazy and these are a lot easier to carry. Seems you just can't beat Buc-cee's price.

Just a note, corn prices are doubling. The feed store I use told me about this Saturday. May not be true, but there is a lot of talk about drought this year!!

Does this confirm it?

Corn Futures

This one seems to say that corn will stay same price.

MathMan, not to get off the corn price. Have you had a hard time getting range cubes lately?

May corn today is $3.88 per bushel (56 lb) plus $1.00 basis delvd Ft Worth in a rail car = 4.88 per bu. Plus bagging, bags, frt...I could see an additional $1.50-$2.00 per bu cost. Takes it $6.50 plus per 50 lbs in a bag. If you're getting it for considerably less, I'd be concerned of quality. High aflatoxin corn can look normal.

After the bagging facilities use up the local corn, they buy northern rail single cars to fill in. The market is fairly efficient and replacement is not much of a premium to local TX corn, and can be much better quality of you have one of those hot summers that y'all are known for. Hot/dry = aflatoxin.

Barring widespread corn belt drought this year, there's plenty of feed grains in the world.

The market is up some from last year, we've sold contracts above $4/bu for this year's corn production.. Hope it continues for a while..
