You didn't ask for an explanation. You just make a condescending post.

I have never had the need for anything larger than the 10 round cartridge my A10 came with. Baring hog encounters, I see no need, why carry around the extra weight. My A10 T already tips the scales at 12 pounds. I will say the extra weight sure makes it a pleasure to shoot repetively. But if a 30 round clip is all you have then you don't have a choice, you use what you have. That is what make America great!

What I want to see is the pic of the guy who just shot a deer and put 15 holes in it and poses with rifle in hand next to the corpse. That should get things going.

You mean, with a .223 or something?

OP should try shooting a good AR variant rifle. Then maybe try getting laid or something. Wouldn't be so worked up & grumpy.

BTW, loved the 1st video just posted. Is that a deer stand right behind the deer? Looks like your typical meat gazers set up in east TX. That's some mighty fine hunting & shooting skills. & by that; I really mean "what a buncha idiots, your shooting right at each other".

OP has a pic up in another thread. He's old, very old, but that may explain his hate of these new fangled rifles that have only been in production over forty years.

I got an AR for my son to hunt with when he was 9 years old. The adjustable stock and low recoil were my reasons. Didn’t need a 30 round clip. In fact that just gets in the way trying to rest on a blind window.

It uses the stall with the handicap bar. If any of you use optics instead of iron sights you're cheating.

Good chance he was carrying an AR long before these younger pup's. Picked my first one up in the late 60's. Some started in 1964.

Surely, no one in his right mind thinks that a whitetail is going to stick around while you continue to shoot and miss.

I still can't see why curmudgeonly and close minded bolt gun hunters load more than one in their magazines. After all, having a bolt gun means you are a really good shot and all, right?

Poor bunny...

Did those deer stand around while the bolt gun hunters just missed??

Was the gun not sighted in on the second one? Jesus.

There was that pesky AWB, then in the last decade and a half the rifles themselves have gone from stupid expensive to what they are today. The whole I don't do it so no one should either argument is played out. It doesn't affect you in any way and is legal. Don't worry about the other guy, worry about you.

I appreciate & respect any veteran for their service.

That doesn't mean that 40 years later their opinion is valid on anything or everything.

Agreed. I love wood stocks, also love AR's. Too many men acting like women these days. "OMG did you see that, I would never, why is this necessary?".. bla bla bla good Lord have mercy. Just shut up and hunt. Who cares if you're wearing camo or not, or carrying a scary black rifle. "He's carrying an AR and hunting too close to my fence, and I think he has 30 rounds too so he must be a DB mofo that doesn't know what he's doing". Reminds me of church.

The purpose of this post was to start chit, plain & simple. Just another my way or the highway thread.
Sounds like a liberal democrat to me.

Good chance the increase in AR's used for hunting are Vet's whom have been at war for the last decade coming home and using what they know. More power to em.
But it's easier to argue about silly things on the internet than be happy about people hunting and getting outdoors. I wonder if the guys back in the late 40's and 50's caught hell for hunting with sporterized Mausers they brought back from Germany.

Most of my uncles had them, they were so custom you could not tell they had been a weapon of war. But of 6 of the, only 2 used them to hunt, they others carried Winchesters and Remingtons. I was in my 20's when I saw one of my uncle's Mauser that he brought home after WWII. One of them I saw after he passed a way, my cousin that inherited it showed it to me. Until then I only knew of there was 3, I had seen them in gun cases.

It is about the same with my AR15, it is an original Colt, from the 1970's. I have never really hunted with it, I have better weapons to hunt with.

Many hunted with Springfield, Enfield and Remington 03's. My first deer rifle was an 03 Springfield. Some damn fine rifles were built off of Mausers back then, 7mm, 8mm and 6,5 seen allot of use. Even a few Garands
and M-1's in later years.
