I have a buddy that has one of those tracking point weapon type thingys, he shot a crow at just under 950 from his second story balcony, truff too.... I have considered the E3 as well, gets good reviews by many in the biz, but gets crashed by purist, I can see both sides of the coin, but to each his own depending on it's purpose imo.

For me, it doesn't matter what someone decides to put on their rig, I mean there can and will be argument over Schmidt & Bender vs NF, MOA vs MIL, everyone has their own "flavor" (opinion)

Wind exists while hunting, Dennis.
On Tuesday my customer was holding off of an 8" plate, at 400 yards to get solid hits. It was windy enough to cause that much hold, at not a terribly far distance. Not a rule, but my opinion, deer vitals are 8".

I know that Jason, that is obvious, along with many other factors hunting or not, just pointing out there are many factors as you well know, not everyone will see it the same tho, even tho physics and principles are constant.

Before cutting out the target, JG, you should wait to see if he says it was flying...different shape ya know! P_102

On a more serious note, do people check that the laser is in exact alignment with the scope? At 500, 750, and 1000 yards does the laser 'strike' exactly where the crosshairs are? P_102

I would think the laser would hit at the same degree of error for each range shot. Light is not affected by gravity. Maybe fog or dust would affect it though.

Agree TexasEd, just wondering if there IS any degree of error. 1/2" at 100 means 5" at 1000 and possibly ranging something beyond what you're looking at.

I took the ol 4x16 E3 out this weekend and ranged some thunder chickens at 683 and I could barely see to shoot them on 16 power - maybe I'm just blind. I'd be FUBAR'd if it was a crow Do I trust it's ranging abilities, yes....would I like more zoom and better glass, yes....does it work for what I bought it for (500 yards or less)....maybe once I get my data nailed down....I just now figured out that Nosler's factory load data is 400 fps faster than reality.....oooooooppppssss

It does not need to be a crow. Just crow sized. You do enough as it is.

Never used one. Mounted a few for customers and found them incredibly big, awkward and heavy. Don’t have anything against someone owning one but they are not for me. Oh, and as was previously stated the glass wasn’t anything to write home about.
Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.
