Was at a bomb fire party and watched a silence co silencer explode. Flew all over the place up to 50 yards. Ever witnessed it? Just going with the name the guy mentioned. He had .556 going through a .556 silencer. Looked alloy based externally and titanium internally.
Recently got a gym membership, strange folks! I like to show up the roid zombies with my full motion curls with the 55lb. bells. Not their cheater short stroked light weights. It's holarious.

What is a bomb fire party?
And a .556 sounds like a pretty stout round.

They poured gas on giant brush pile and they shot it with tracer rounds. Bomb fire. Hang out, talk and drink. Laugh too. The silencer came apart at the seam of the beginning of the tube. Parts flew everywhere. The silencer blew up on the range right before the gathering. I was 30 yds away working on a saw and just happened to see it. Asked the dude if he was ok. Said guess so.

The end nearest the barrel or the other end? If the other, sounds like he had a baffle or end-cap strike. Silencer came loose most likely. As for pouring gas on a fire and shooting tracers at it, that's got to be one of the top 10 dumbest (or at lesat most redneck) things I've heard.

They're giving you a hard time because you wrote .556 instead of 5.56. 5.56mm is one thing, but a round with a diameter of .556" would be a real cannon.

Everything was tight and it was by the barrel and not the end. The treaded part stayed on the treaded barrel.

I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Was at a bomb fire party... As you search through your personal dictionary, the word you're looking for is "bonfire". noun 1. a large fire built in the open air, for warmth, entertainment, or celebration, to burn leaves, garbage, etc., or as a signal. As to the suppressor explosion, any chance he launched a .300BLK down the tube?

As to the suppressor explosion, any chance he launched a .300BLK down the tube? If he shot a .300 BLK down a 5.56 rifle the whole gun would have come apart. 5.56 and .300 BLK rifle barrels usually have different threads, although I guess suppressor could use a quick attach flash hider.

Redneck's call it a bomb fire when you pour 5 gallons of gas and 5 gallons of diesel on it, then put the fuel drums on the fire and shoot it with tracer rounds. Get it. Bomb fire.

Running tracer rounds through a suppressor is a bad bad idea. Bullets are less stable and foul the hell out of everything. But from the sound of what you described, might be more likely that a lite redneck dropped the weapon and bent or knocked the suppressor out of alignment. It pretty much had to be a baffle strike of some sort.

It was a baffle strike, but not from a .300 blackout. The tracers were used for the fire and not during the silencer explosion. There was one damaged baffle. .300 blackout wont feed into 5.56 or .223 and the sound without the silencer insures me it was not a .300 blackout. It was too loud. .300 blackouts sound more like a pistol round than rifle unsilenced. The silencer was not used on the fire. Never have seen .300 blackout tracres either. Im sure somebody makes them though. The secret is that the dude put one of those trigger flickers on his AR. The ones that give shot burst. That's what caused the misshap I'm guessing.

.... .300 blackout wont feed into 5.56 or .223 ...... I disagree with that statement. And there are lots of pictures of what happens when you do try to fire a .300 BLK in a .223/5.56 gun. https://www.nrablog.com/articles/2016/9/avoiding-the-300blk-ar15-kaboom/But still that is not the cause of your suppressor mishap.

Guessing the suppressor got loose and that round finished it. Good news is Silencerco will warranty it for free.

you pour 5 gallons of gas and 5 gallons of diesel on it WOW!! I have used diesel to get one going before that had been rained on the day before but I got going with only a half gallon of diesel and no gas. You guys used 10 gallons of fuel, that's about 20 times more than was needed. No doubt you had mowed well around it and had firefighting equipment at the ready before the "bomb" went off right?
