I have a couple of "waterproof" jackets that worked well until they got a little wet. They now smell like a wet dog I've washed them as recommended and let them air dry with no luck. Does anyone have any remedies for this as I'm sure I'm not the only one whose experienced this.

What brand? I've got a Redhead and a Drake, one for mild weather and one for colder weather. Both have been fine. I've never washed them. I'm not even sure if that's recommended for either of mine. I just ripped the tags off and went hunting. I try to remember to tuck them into my waders when I'm wading out, though.
I just turned it on . I was looking bird dogs in the butt this morning.

One of the jackets is a drake the other is a game winner. I've had the game winner for years and it just now started doing this. The drake jacket started after the first time I hunted with it in a light rain.

Have two drake jackets (est, mst) and a game winner. All three have been wet and washed, no issues here. Try washing them in vinegar and baking soda.

Thanks I'lly give that a try. The drake jacket is the old school camo pattern that I love but they discontinued it. If I can resolve the issue it'll stricktly be a deer stand jacket versuses duck hunting.

Game winners are so inexpensive I would consider it disposable get you another. If you want true waterproof you really need to get a Gore-Tex layer at Cabela’s their own brand or go with Sitka gear can go wrong there

Try turning it inside out to wash and dry. I've found mine never comes dry if it's not turned Inside out.

For as cheap as the game winner jacket is it has really been an awesome jacket. I was just hoping I could somewhat get the smell out of them. As far as waterproof I'm thinking about buying the actual drake rain jacket and just layering up on colder days.

As far as waterproof I'm thinking about buying the actual drake rain jacket and just layering up on colder days. Also not a bad idea. Today I wished I'd worn shorts under my waders and had a light camo shirt. It was 60 degrees. Definitely didn't need a jacket. Layers work for when it's actually cold because it rarely gets cold enough for a real heavy coat anyway.

I feel like we baby our dogs way too much. I don't even consider putting a jacket on my dog until it drops into the low 20's. I hunt plenty of days up north in the teens or lower without a jacket.
If it bleeds I can KILL IT

With that said get the graingers direct spray DWR and follow the directions. It will make a big difference.

I like the Under Armour hunting gear. The waterproof jackets I have work great. I wish Mossy Oak Duck Blind was still available.
