Either a suppressed AR22 SBR, suppressed 10.5" AR223, suppressed 12.5" AR6.8, or 4.5" SBR AR 9mm suppressed of course. Just depends on which ones I have out

I usually have a Mossberg MVP Patrol Rifle .223/5.56 with me in the truck or Mule. 16" barrel, 3x9 scope with a 10 rd AR mag stuffed full of 70 gr SP's loaded pretty stout. Short overall length makes it easy to maneuver around and get it pointed downrange. Handguns, normally one of my 9mm's but occasionally the M&P 40S&W or a 1911. How does this rig shoot??? The Mossberg

30-30 lever action, with open sights, for me also. With its slim profile it just slides right in between the cushions, it's quick to shoulder, and has plenty of power for any thing that I might encounter unexpectedly.

One of these: (1) Handi-rifle SB2 in .223 with 3X9X40 or (22) Savage Model 24 in .223 over 3" 12 ga. with a 1x4.5X30 on it. FWIW- Sighted the Savage at 100yds with the .223 and found that with that setting the 12ga 6 shot patterns dead on at 30yds.

The Mossberg Very well acutally. 150 to 200 yd accuracy is no problem. I use 70 grain Speer SP's for this rifle only. I had bought them years ago to shoot in my 22-250 but the 1/14 twist in my Ruger M77 did not stabilize them at all. The 1/9 twist shoots them very well and they are heavy enough to be effective on hogs. That's not to say that you can't drop a hog with a 39 grain .204 to the vent shaft to the CPU, I have done that, but I digress. I removed the flash hider it came with and replaced it with a thread protector. Helps a little with the noise and the blast is less of a concern on truck mirrors. Mossberg has a patented bolt design that allows using any AR style 5.56 magazine. I run a 10 rounder but could use a 30 rounder if so inclined.

I've ditched the AR's completely and I'm back to the sporter barrel 243 Bolt rifle, quick to get out the window and doesn't have all the crap on it to get hung up. I gave the AR's time to prove themselves but their just not user friendly even with 10 round mag's. Plus I don't have cases flying around the cab.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

I think it’s a one off but still a possibility.

Just riding around I’ll either carry my .308 or my .22 mag. Only carry one or the other. Both will kill it if something jumps out

Wilson Combat 308 or 6.8 at all times. Both ride great with the stock collapsed.
I like 10 round mags. They will take dust and a beating. And kill whatever I shoot.

.44 Special Ruger A single shot 20 ga dehorned to 20" (snakes) Glenfield 30 .30-30 or .308 bolt gun. All three if on my Mule (lots of pouches and racks).
If in the ranch truck feeding, usually just a rifle, maybe a Mini-14 with a 5 round magazine or a Contender carbine .223.
Best,
Jack

Marlin 882SSV bolt action heavy barrel stainless 22 magnum. Wears an old Nikon prostaff 3-9x40 that has never failed me. Gun still shoots quarter size groups at 50yds. You would be surprised what a properly placed 40gr HP bullet will bring down.

My only truck gun now is whatever pistol I am carrying concealed. I fully intend to grab one of those Mossberg Shockwaves to rectify that though.

Used to be a cheapo Savage Axis in .308 with a Leupold VX II 2-7x. Now it’s a Marlin 336 in .35 Rem.

My H&R Buffalo Classic in .45 Colt lives in a saddle scabbard on our Mule. Our place is brushy and for years this quick handling little rifle has killed deer and pigs with no difficulty. Iron sights, of course.
