Never had the oppotunity to do any quail hunting...any ideas where to hunt that won't cost you 150.00-600.00 a day to hunt?

I do offer some Quail hunts, but the cheapest I have is $175 per day semi guided hunt. Guide and land included, you provide dogs lodging and food. I have access to 50k acres of prime Quail country in Texas. Check out http://www.livetohuntandfish.com/index.asp

There are alot of excellent opportunities on the public land for $48 a year. Can't beat that. I have come into contact with very few others-not crowded at all. Penty of space and lots of quail.

I hunted on TPW land in Paducha(sp?) It was the Matador WMA. We had pretty good luck and it was not crowded at all. Only saw one other hunter all weekend. I would definately check it out.

Guess he has the money to...

I have heard of several $50 to $100 places in the Hall county area. I have not had the opportunity to hunt there since we have free places but might have to start as the free places are dwindling due to new land owners with lots of money out there. I will keep my ears posted and let you know of any. I plan to make a trip out there and try one this year. My co-worker went to one last year and limited out before 10 am. He also has a lease near Spur that is good he tells me but they don't over hunt it. I haven't done that in a day but we do have no dogs and lots of hunters.

We did see a few quail while dove hunting, it might be a good place to check out when the time comes.

I've got access to a couple of good setters and pointers if anyone wants to go to the public land in Paducha(sp?) after deer season.

They are my uncles dogs, I guess access is better than ownership. Can use them when I need to but don't have to feed them.

Hey Bud count me in on some of that. Will have to catch a weekend without kiddie duty but am interested for sure. Been way too long since I had a good quail hunt...and we need to get a hunt on.

Only two things in life worth waking up early for...hunting and fishing!!!
