Common, give it up, lets hear it. Here's mine, Stub you need to up your game and take notes... 1 diced onion, and red bell pepper, and one clove garlic... Saute in olive oil... Cooked 3 hours, just adding water it looks like this... Then I add about 2 and 3/4 cups of ketchup... The above pic is my base, then I add the rest of my secret ingredients which I change up and experiment with, below... How you do it.

I rarely use any....if I do I typically buy a bottle brand the tweak it significantly depending on how I plan to use it...basting, dipping, mopping, marinating, etc.....

Out of the bottle is cheating Snake, you need to up your game like stub. I keep my BBQ sauce separate, till right before its served. Even left overs, warming up pull pork and sausage now. And of course warming up Guy's Fabulous BBQ Sauce with it, gets better every time I warm it up.

I start with Kraft, add pan drippings, vinegar, and cayenne.

I only use sauce on left over BBQ. I like the sauce from Salt Lick. The hot is not nearly as hot as it used to be.

Here's my sweet and spicy ketchup/vinegar recipe. Great for those that like the vinegar type sauces that also doubles as a decongestant when you smell it during cooking..
When you go buy the white vinegar, I suggest you get the 1 gallon jug. Use the 4 cups and pour the rest on your favorite fire ant mound. This recipe fills that jug just fine.
4 c WhiteVinegar or just one bottle of 32 oz. white vinegar 5 c White Sugar, best results with splenda type 3 tsp Minced Garlic 8 tsp Colgin Liquid Smoke 10 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce 8 c Ketchup or one 64 oz bottle. Buy the cheapest stuff on the shelf 2-1/2 Tbsp Prepared Horseradish (not creamed style !) 1/8 c Ground BlackPepper 1/8 c Ground cayenne Pepper 1/8 c Crushed Red Pepper 1/4 to 1/2 stick Butter 1-1/2 Juiced Lemon or 5 tablespoons juice
Mix sugar, vinegar and garlic in heavy/crock pot Heat and stir until sugar is fully dissolved. Add remaining ingredients (If splenda, then just dump it and all the rest of the stuff in and turn it on high) Stir constantly until a slight boil starts. Then set it to low for 2 hours then shut off. Bottle it up after it cools off. If you used the 32oz vinegar, use that empty bottle, plus the empty ketchup bottle.
Press for an AMERICAN.

Okay Buddy which one is it Are we just getting BBQ Lip Service out of you Everything is not always this or that, black or white, 100% this or 100% that..... Stub. So what I'm trying to say, you should always expect a little lip service, in this case probably 10%.

I'm diabetic so I can't do the super sweet, I also don't like the taste of vinegar so that type is out. I've been using "Mark's" from HEB, it taste pretty decent.
back when we used to eat housecats we marinated them in louisiana hot sauce and soy sauce then season them with lemon pepper........then onto the grill slow cooking them 3 hours........excellent folded in tortillas and pico de gallo----Newgulf
