Good looking dogs. My lab gives me the same look.

That is awesome. My pups know when it is time to eat. Most of the time they are waiting for me by the door and once I open that door to the shed to get their food, they are doing about 100+ donuts in the yard in excitement. You would think I didn't feed them twice a day.

Thanks ya'll! It lifts my spirits to hear your comments. The youngest one (the one in front) was 5 months old. He died in my arms this past saturday on the very day that was to be his first trip to the lease. I am still in disbelief that he is gone. RIP Strider!

Sorry to hear that. What happened? a long story and still not quite sure.... Saturday morning, 7 am, I let them out in the back yard to play while I went to the front to take the windows off my soft-top jeep in preparation of going to the lease later that day. I hear the younger one (Strider) yelping in pain, so I run to the back yard to check on them. I find them both on their feet, with their mouths locked together. Now, these guys play hard with each other every day, all day. The older one (Harley, 18 mo old) is neutered and the younger (5 months) testicles havent even descended (although I was going to neuter him next month). In other words, they have never been "aggressive" towards one another, just "rowdy" I was always amazed that they had never so much as scratched each other as hard as they would play sometimes... Anyway, I get to the back yard and it really doesnt look like they are "fighting" or being aggressive.... it looks as if their teeth are locked together... like two bucks with locked antlers... Harley is running backward trying to get loose and dragging Strider by his mouth.. Harley is NOT making any noise and Stider is yelping.... I finally get them apart and send Harley inside and check out Strider. He is laying on the ground panting pretty hard. I check over his body and not a single scratch.. I press all over his body and not a single spot that is tender and that makes him whimper... ONLY thing Stider has is some bleeding from a cut on his tongue and a couple of cuts on his lips.... Certainly nothing that looked life threatening or needing an emergency trip to the vet. I figure he is just worn out from getting drug by his teeth and he will be fine. I have to work 1/2 day so I go ahead and go to work and have my boys give me updates on his condition. They text me throughout the morning that he will get up and walk around some, but mostly just laying around. Still no other signs of injury other than bleeding from his tongue... I tell him to let Strider in and put Harley out and I will check him again when I get home... Get home at 1:15.. Strider is still just laying around and wont even keep his head up. I take him outside to the deck and using a turkey baster and some water, I rinse his mouth, tongue, lips, etc of blood an reassess... Still only thing visible is a puncture wound on the edge of his tongue, some cuts on his gum, and a couple of chipped teeth.... Once again, a check of his body reveals no cuts or tender areas. He will sit up if I help him, but if I let go, he will lay back down.. I dont know what is wrong with him, so I go inside to see if I can find some left over pain medication from Harley's surgery and call the vet... Vet's office is closed, all I get is a voice recording... About this time, I hear Strider collapse by the back door... I open the door to see him splayed out on his belly, legs splayed left and right.. I cant get him up, so I carry him back inside and lay him on the floor in front of TV... Strider starts moaning and then blood just started pouring out of his mouth and nose... I mean a SIGNIFICANT amount! I am terrified that his is dying and/or going to drown in his own blood, so I pick him up with his head lower so he wont choke on all the blood... Strider is limp as a rag doll.. I have one son call the vet back to listen to the recording again to get the emergency number while other son helps me carry Strider back outside... Blood is continuing to pour out of Strider, soaking him, my clothes, the deck etc... I call emergency clinic, but just as they answer, Stider took 3 deep breaths and passed... I hung up the phone and me and my boys looked at each other in stunned silence... oldest son tried chest compressions for several minuets, but he was gone... We took him to the lease and buried him under a tree next to what is now known as "Strider Tank" His first trip to the lease was his last.... RIP Strider....
