We had a bunch of them while out at the ranch last week, good looking birds. We had a female that was destroying a wasp nest, she ate all of the larvae.

That's great, anything that destroys wasps is good. We've seen more painted bunting's this year than usual.

Thanks for sharing the pics. I've been trying to catch a Painted Bunting for a photo for quite a few years now. Like the Yeti and the Black Panther they all continue to elude me.

Or he is trying to impress the 2 lady buntings....

We see them all the time, they really like a bird feeder as well, but stick to think brush making them hard to see sometimes.
