I've never caught one fishing, but I did catch one poaching deere at the lease a couple of years ago. I think he was using a 30-30, but he took off pretty quick when he saw me coming so I'm not sure.

i caught one on a top dog at about 10 pm at night near the coast. thought I had a nice trout but then it got on land and started running. eventually got it unhooked but it was quite a fight

We hooked up with a few out there at Lake Raven when I lived there. Those things are everywhere. Fun fight though.

I actually caught 2 in the same day on a lake just south of lake conroe about 25 years ago at a boyscout camp called camp strake. I caught both of them on topwater lures there were quite a few people around by the time I caught the second one. I got them both to the bank and cut the line. My dad was pretty pissed when I caught the second one because he told me not to do it again.....I just couldnt help myself though. I got the idea to use the topwater lure when I had 5 small gators follow my bobber around and strike at it. It was cool having 5 gators circling my bobber....they were all just staring at it until i twitched it. Anyway, the topwater worked like a charm.

i've only caught 1. got him to the boat on 12 lb trilene xl, after 30 minutes though. i unhooked my yozuri plug and let him go. my girlfriend was taking the pics, standing almost on top of the trolling motor.
