I have just aquired a new piece of property with lots of hogs. That said I will be feeding year round and do not want any hogs to bencnefit. I have no interest in kiiling them, have killed plenty.

That said, what is the be way to keep them away from the feeders? Hog pannels, electric fence, what else? Also, I am on a relative budget. Thanks in advance.

post signs so the pigs can read the rules of the woods about eatting your feed. that should teach them

Trap them.
You can probably get a couple of traps for the price of a pen or two. Then you can sell the hogs to a buyer live to pay for the traps.

Penning the feeders is only a band-aid fix. You'll still have pigs, and they will find any weak spot in your pens. So it'll be an ongoing battle.

The best way to discourage them is with hot lead and heavy trapping. You'll never get rid of them, but you would see a decline in their numbers.

Sorry, but I've gotta vote the other way. The hogs were absolutely killing the feeders on my ranch, so I built pens (50' diameter, hog panels) around three of them. Trailcams on each feeder reveal that two years later I've yet to have even one single hog get inside. I've been trapping and shooting hogs on the place and have killed over 120 of 'em in the same two years and have yet to make a real dent in the piggie population. Apparently they're breeding lots faster than I'm shooting...

The ONLY way to do what you want is what Ruger siad. Not electric fences, or dogs, or freggin signs will do it.

Oversize feed pen using hog panels. Make sure corn is not being thrown beyond the pen. And shoot everyone you see. Good luck and congratulations on your new piece of heaven.
