I can understand the 1st sentence, but the second I don't agree with at all

OK......Everyone who wears glasses or has eye problems need not apply! You don't count......You can't have a favorite gun to shoot if it has a scope on it.

Next time I'll make it 3 posts: (1) for those who have eye problems & wear glasses (2) for those who don't & (3) for those who just wear reading glasses loser8

Haven't shot one in years, but the M249 SAW was pretty sweet.

My corrective lenses for nearsightedness makes shooting open sights an even greater challenge, but it doesn't keep me from seeing how well I can shoot without a scope. Sure, the iron sights are a little blurry, but I can see them well enough to make kill shots with a rifle at 100 yards, and with a pistol at 25.

Pure fun to shoot gun... have two:

Marlin 1894CL .32-20

Close second: Marlin 1894C .357

Everyone I've let shoot the .32-20 always have a big smile, plus a tight grip when I go to get it back from them.

Of the ones I own, mine would be my S&W M&P Sport II AR. It's still as it came....open sights and no scope, although I've thought about getting a red dot. Haven't used it to hunt anything yet and not sure I will unless it's coyotes or pigs, but it is a blast to shoot. My boys love it too.

It's pretty cool to me to see the variation of preference that we all have.

It's kind of the idea of agreeing to disagree, but still agreeing the freedom to have a choice is nice.

I'm wondering if we could break the shooters into groups..... game hunters (large game, small game, fowl); pervasive species, varmint and pest eliminators; target shooters; tactical shooters; cowboy shooters; and plinkers?

Why do you have to divide us? Why can't we all be just shooters?

you know, I really don't shoot mine enough to have a favorite. If I had to pick, I'd say my Browning 725 Sporting 20ga. Shooting in the Elm Fork SC league

For just the pure pleasure of shooting, I'd have to go with my KelTec PMR 30. An absolute hoot to shoot! Everyone who's ever run a full magazine of 30 rounds of WMR ammo through it can't help but ask to run a couple more mags through it! Practically no recoil, great trigger, and enough muzzle blast to almost convince yourself that you've just shot a center fire pistol. Definitely addictive.

Just an observation!

nidea Spent over 10 years watching people fight over what hunting & shooting configuration is best. I finally post one post in "Rifles, Shotguns, and Handguns" in an effort to get people just talking "firearms", sharing info & pictures, and the next thing you know we're trying to divide everything up again. Many of those categories are already addressed in existing sub-forums. hammer

I'm already lining up a "New & Improved 2017 - Which is best .308 or 30.06" thread...

My favorite guns to shoot are mostly ones I inherited from my father as they bring back good memories of his teaching me about shooting and marksmanship.
Colt Gold Cup 1911 with trigger and accurizing work done by a gunsmith
Dan Wesson 6" 15-2VH .357 Mag
High Standard Supermatic Citation 106 .22LR

I also love to shoot the LR-308 I built with a Lilja 24" bull barrel. It shoots better than I do.
